Update: I contacted the email address that was provided in response to my review. A “leader” directed me back to the store manager who sold me the mattress in the first place (also the same store that said they could not help me/offer any type of resolution)….. What was the point of commenting on my review and asking me to email details if I was just going to be redirected back to the same store/manager? Seems like their response was more for show than to help with a resolution.
Unfortunately, I purchased a king mattress for $1,700 here back in April. I went into the store very specifically knowing exactly what mattress I wanted to buy. Being pregnant, I let a female manager talk me into buying another (and of course more expensive) mattress. I was planing on buying a firm mattress with a pillow top, as I’d been using for years and she said most people don’t actually like firm/how the pillow top is working against it and causes back problems. At the time I was influenced and her logic seemed acceptable. She had me lay on several different mattress (again all more expensive) and was pushing me towards the one I regretfully ended up purchasing. She was even brining up/pushing financing it as it was out of my price range. Once she realized I would not give in to that, she magically was able to lower the price after typing on her iPad. Fast forward two months and I have NEVER regretted a big purchase decision more. I now have EXTREME pain due to this plush mattress I unfortunately own. My fiancé has the same issue. I couldn’t find my invoice so I called the store to see if there was any type of warranty or any way they could help me. The woman appeared nice initially but became very condescending on the phone. She said I “specifically rejected” their “comfort” warranty and said “we have your signature stating that you understand this”, as if I thought she was lying? It came off very rude. She said because of that, there is absolutely nothing they could do to assist and they need to “cover” themselves, not the customer because I “just don’t like it”. I am very disappointed a manager pushed us into a different mattress and I am paying the ultimate price. I knew exactly what I wanted going in, but in the moment was influenced by her. I’m extremely upset I was told nothing could be done. Now I’m $1,700 in the hole with a mattress we can’t stand. Beware shopping here. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI purchased a recliner sofa 10 months ago with no issue. Early June of this year I purchased a new bed frame and mattress during a “mattress sale” as displayed by a large poster in their window at the R & F Outlet location on Route 9 in Manalapan NJ. After a week of trying out the new mattress, it was decidedly too soft and not very comfortable. I went in store to see what my options were and after the one salon the floor told me to go to customer service - which I did. After explaining to the woman at the desk what my experience was and would like to talk to someone about exchanging the mattress for a firmer one (expecting it would be an increase in cost was not an issue). What is an issue is that she had to call a store manager on the phone to get my options. The manager called back laying out all the additional fees because I didn’t purchase ( the mattress protection plan” and that any exchange must adhere to a new purchase of equal or greater value (again no issue there) but mandatory purchase of $125 “protection plan” which allows for the exchange, a pick up and delivery fee of $125 (originally the delivery fee was $80) and that I would have to wait for it …. Schedule an appointment with “ Kristen” when she was available In Store when another manager was there. I asked when will she be in store I can come back - turns out she was already at that location — in the office. I was told another manager needs to be there so there would be no interruptions??? Made no sense. I do not fault the rep at the desk as she was just relating this Kristen the managers guidelines but what a lack of customer service and lack of customer care to deal with someone who just wanted to purchase a new mattress. Instead I get a list of mandatory fees and have to schedule a time to come back when it was convenient for this manager to come out of the office. I bought sofa recliner, referred two separate family members to this store ( who also bought sofas, sectionals and chair) Think twice about dealing with this location and the extra cost of “protection plans and delivery and restock fees”. You end up paying more in the end and do not get a deal and on top of it poor customer service from...
Read morePushy and dishonest salespeople, unreliable delivery service.
My fiancé and I walked into the store to shop for couches for our new apartment. Immediately, we started getting followed around by a pushy salesman who pestered us after every couch we sat on and asked us what we thought of it. When we did decide on a sofa and loveseat set he recommended using their delivery service for an additional $250 fee. I was hesitant but he told me the sofa would come "disassembled" and that their expert delivery people could get a couch into "literally anywhere".
When the set was delivered it was fully assembled and the delivery crew could not fit the sofa through the door of our apartment. They had to load the sofa back on the truck and only deliver the loveseat which was small and would have been easy to transport myself. Despite this the store manager and salesman told me they would only refund me a measly $25 off the original $250 delivery fee.
We decided to use the credit from the sofa to order a second loveseat instead to compete our living room. The loveseat got delivered a week later and was suppose to arrive between 2:15pm - 5:15pm. After waiting around all afternoon the delivery truck arrived a little after 5:30pm with no text or email alert to let me know the delivery would be late.
Overall, I found dealing with the Rt 9 Raymour & Flanigan a frustrating experience from the moment I walked in until the last couch was finally delivered a week later. The most insulting part was that the salesman sold me on the delivery service to earn the commission and then did nothing to try to make it right when the delivery service failed. I definitely won't ever be back and wouldn't recommend doing...
