Princeton Radiology - Freehold — Local services in Freehold Township

I don't normally write reviews but my experience motivated me to share. I am considered young to need mammograms but I have a history of breast cancer in my family and have been getting them since last year when I had my first scare. I recently moved and was recommended to Princeton Radiology Freehold by my doctor. It took weeks to get my initial appointment for an ultrasound and mammogram and when I finally had it, the technician who did my ultrasound said she didn't think the mammogram was necessary but I had the appointment so I could do it if I wanted. I chose to do it because of my history. Well, good thing I did because they found something. When I was told they found an abnormality, they also informed me they only do biopsies two times a week and I couldn't get an appointment for another two weeks. The woman booking it gave me her direct line and told me to call her if I had questions but when I tried to call her the number she gave me was incorrect so I could not reach her. I tried calling several times to see about cancelations due to the stress of thinking I had cancer and every time they said they would call back and never did. The day before my appointment I called to ask if my partner could come and they said he could, but when we arrived the next morning the receptionist told me he could not join - however they did let him and when the nurse came to get me she said they don't care if he joined and don't know why the receptionist said no. I will say the doctor who did the biopsy and the nurses he worked with were very nice and I have no problem with them. I thought they did a great job. I was then told my results would take 2-5 business days but I can check the patient portal because the results will be posted immediately and I would likely get them before the doctor did. The biopsy was on a Wednesday, I spent the next several days refreshing the portal every 10 minutes. By Monday, I was a mess. I was crying every hour and couldn't focus on work. Mid afternoon I finally called to check in and they told me to check the portal. When I told them I had been, that is when they informed me there is a separate portal for pathology that they did not tell me about. I finally get onto the portal and see the results are up but are written in medical terms so I could not read whether the results were benign or not. I tried calling the office again to ask if someone could read me the results and they said they could not and that nobody in pathology was able to either. I even tried calling my gyno office who also got a copy and they told me my doctor was out and the other doctors were busy so nobody could read me the results. The stress of this was too much and I couldn't wait another day to hear the results so I decided to just send my lab report to my uncle, who is an eye doctor, who was able to tell me I did not have cancer. The next day, someone finally called me from Princeton Radiology but I was not available. They did not leave a message or try to call back. Thankfully, I already knew what they were going to say. All in all, my experience with Princeton Radiology Freehold was traumatic, frustrating, and stressful. I cannot state enough how much I do not recommend this facility if your test might lead to...

I’ve never had an issue other than an excessive wait time and then one time I was running late and they wanted to cancel my appt. I asked how when I’ve had to wait way longer than the 10 minutes I was running late so then they still saw me. That’s not the problem it was my last visit that was TERRIBLE!!!!! I scheduled my appt for one test but when I got there they had me down for something else based on a script the doctor had sent over. I was on time, early as requested. Once they finally called me up and advised I wanted to confirm with my doctor and check with my insurance if it would be covered, so that means 2 calls. The technician had an attitude about it and started mumbling she needs to go to lunch. At this point I’m already on the phone with my insurance provider, already spoke to my dr office. She’s standing over me mumbling and extremely rude when she should be considerate and understanding, NOPE!!!! Once I confirmed she makes another sarcastic remark. I go back for one test but then I’m waiting a long time for the 2nd part and of course it wasn’t her at this point cause she obviously went to lunch. The other tech finally does my test then says ok, see you in 6 months, no information. I had to ask what’s the issue, as the previous time the radiologist came in and told me but not this time, after they obviously saw something. Only after I asked was I then informed. I put a complaint in with one of the office managers but I don’t plan on returning here for my follow up. At my job I don’t always get to go to lunch on time either because I have clients to attend to and that’s ok. I don’t take it out on the clients and get snarky. I can’t leave enough about every visit at Princeton radiology. Everyone is professional, and caring… The office makes me feel at home. All your questions are addressed or if not, address the next day with a follow up phone call. Every technician I have had Has been a delight to work with. The last technician, her name was Liz, was thorough And so personable… Times I went in there for a Mammo I was greeted from the front door with a perky hello from the receptionist… Many times it was Maria, who was always greeting me with a smile… And although the office is always busy , on the way out, someone always make sure they say goodbye. I can’t say much more, but I am very pleased and with every aspect of this office.

This was my prior evaluation of Princeton radiology… Although I always have a pleasant visit there and everyone is nice I am disappointed, I received conflicting results… About my mammogram. When I called, they said there was a glitch in the system, and they were trying to figure it out. In the meantime, many of Us received conflicting results… Which, of course, is very upsetting… I was not strongly upset with the person I spoke on the phone, but when your office realized that there was a glitch and several women or many women have received incorrect results from a glitch.
