Update: While staff at Ashley Furniture were pleasant to work with, delivery is not as smooth. The initial date of our delivery ended up being re-scheduled due to us missing the text for the delivery team being near. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule for the following week.
Unfortunately, we were not aware the truck would be unmarked. With living in an apartment complex, we were unsure as to whether they were associated with Ashley Furniture or were for other tenants.
We stayed at home all day, not wanting to miss anything this time and we peered out our window to see if we could get a better idea of what was going on. We have a directory at the front entryway of the apartment for people to contact tenants. I also have the app associated with the directory to communicate with anyone who calls and to unlock the door.
There was no call. There was no contact made to us by those delivering in the unmarked vehicle. We didn't know if this was the one or if there was another vehicle coming that would clearly indicate it was associated with Ashley Furniture.
Calls were made by us to those in the delivery department (not those in the truck, as we do not have anyway to reach them directly). The person spoken to said they tried to contact us, but I checked the app and saw no missed calls via the directory. There were no calls or texts to the cell number given to the delivery department either.
Ashley Furniture was called but there were limitations to what they could do as well (though I thank them for their help). Delivery was contacted again (by us) and after 19 minutes of being on hold, a lady answered the phone, and within five seconds, stated she could not hear us, said a number to call back just once and hung up.
Unfortunately, things are unable to be handled from home so we'll try to visit in person today and see what can be done.
We went around to a few furniture places to look at different items and we ended up finding different pieces at different locations. Nez was incredibly helpful during our first stop at Ashley and he honestly won my Mom and I over with his continual insight and helpful personality. We were not planning on buying a couch when we first came in, but not only did we buy a three-sitter, we bought a love seat and three bar stools! We didn't feel pressured as he encouraged us to look around and showed us various items at different price points-items that we knew we needed for our move-in to our new home. He's absolutely fantastic and I don't know if I can recommend him enough :) .
We went back for another visit and we met with Nez again who gave us a warm welcome and directed us to our next stop for mattresses (within the store). He introduced us to the mattress specialist, Nick and Nick helped us to narrow down our choices. He let us know what was popular, but also invited us to choose what was comfortable for us within our price point (especially with the the amount of purchases we are making). He let us know how to navigate our delivery dates with our initial purchases with Nez and the purchase of a new mattress as well.

When I was making my purchase, the salesperson assured me they offer a 30-day price match if I find the same item cheaper elsewhere. Based on that verbal promise, I went ahead and placed an order worth over $4,000.
Before the purchase, they were extremely pleasant â saying things like âYouâre the customer, and weâll do everything to make sure youâre satisfied.â But once the order was placed and I actually tried to follow up on the price match (after finding the same items significantly cheaper elsewhere), their attitude completely changed. When I asked for a price match again â still within the 30-day window â the sales person became rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He reluctantly agreed to the match but told me this would be the âlast price matchâ theyâd honor, and even threatened to cancel my entire order if I asked for a price match again.
It became clear that once they secured the sale, customer satisfaction no longer mattered â especially if it meant cutting into their margins. The way I was treated for simply expecting them to honor their own word was unacceptable.
For a store selling Ashley furniture â which is widely available at lower prices through many other retailers â the least they can do is uphold their commitments and treat customers with basic respect. Because of this experience, I will never shop here again, and I strongly advise others to be cautious. Donât be fooled by the polite talk during the sale â it disappears the moment you hold them...

Not sure if I wasnât taken seriously because Iâm young and was there alone, but I went in hoping to make a purchase and the employee who greeted me genuinely could not have been more unhelpful. I mentioned I wanted a pet friendly performance fabric on a small sectional or sofa/ottoman combo and showed a few models I saw online that I liked. He spent most of the time trying to track down the exact models I showed him which ultimately werenât on the floor yet - ok, no problem. Not dead set on those specific models at all, just wanted to show examples. But instead of showing me similar models, fabric swatches, literally offering ANY alternative options whatsoever, he told me to come back later in the week for the exact models I was looking for and then told me I should just get a 5 year stain warranty instead of a performance fabric. Which, judging by the visibly dirty sofas on the display floor, might be necessary. Regardless, I wanted a performance fabric for durability, not because itâs stain proof, and if he had asked me any questions at all he would have known that. He also vaguely pointed in the direction of one half of the store and told me to âlook over thereâ and then just stood around as I aimlessly wandered around. I went next door to Furniture Mart and had a fantastic experience with outstanding customer service.
