"Today, Sunday, December 15, 2024, between 2:00 - 3:00 PM, my husband and I went shopping at H-E-B in Friendswood, TX. In the bakery area, there was an older lady handing out samples of a pecan pie. We tried it, and since we liked it, we decided to go grab one to buy. While my husband was asking her a question, I took another sample of the pie.
The older lady told me I couldn’t take another one. I was shocked, holding the tiny piece of pie in my hand. She repeated it again, and the third time, she grabbed the sample from my hand, took it away, and LITERALLY THREW IT IN THE TRASH. She did this in front of everyone.
Of course, we went to complain to the manager, and I told him I wanted an apology from the older lady, which never happened. The manager was VERY KIND, apologized to us, went to speak with her, and gave us the pie for free, but the older lady never apologized.
It’s a SHAME that such miserable people work with customers. While there are people who DON’T EVEN HAVE A DROP OF WATER TO DRINK, that lady is selfishly THROWING FOOD IN THE TRASH.
I’ve been a customer at that H-E-B for many years, and thank GOD I have the money to pay for my food, but I have NEVER seen someone as WICKED, SELFISH, AND MISERABLE as that lady. Naturally, being as miserable as she is, she just gave her version of events and denied everything, not remembering that they can check the cameras. Everything should be recorded, or they can check the trash and find the tiny piece of pie.
During this holiday season, as well as at other times of the year, food banks are organized here in Texas for those in need, while that lady prefers to throw food away rather than let someone eat it.
We ask for a better world, but with people like that lady, the world cannot improve.
How does that woman still have a job there when there are multiple complaints from other customers about her?
HEB is my favorite store, and I had given it 5 stars in my previous reviews. Unfortunately, with an employee like that lady, I have to take them away and leave just one star because there’s no option...

Read moreSorry for the 1 star review. Reason is that you’re a food provider and rules need to be followed for a successful outcome in any business. I was at your store on Sunday 27th September and I witnessed many of your beloved customers flouting the mask mandate the state of Texas instituted. When I inquired at the cashiers desk about this malfeasance the cashier said and I quote “ we don’t enforce it” ....what a tragedy. This is a place where I buy my food and walk thru your store happy to see other families enjoying the process of shopping. I had a choice of Walmart or you and I chose you but I am dissatisfied with your decision to not enforce the mandate. At the checkout counter I was forced to get loud with one of your conservative shoppers who was mask less and encroaching on my space and not until I ask for a manager none of your employees did anything to quell my discomfort, only for another cashier to come by and remove that person to another checkout line. Sorry but my life matters and so the rest of my family. Not risking it for some idiot who’s lives does not matter. Long story short I will not be shopping at your store again for my own safety maybe after this...
