I wasn't happy with my recent trip to Sonic. I ordered an item off the menu. Specifically a chocolate slushie. Yes, a chocolate slushie. Chocolate is listed as one of the flavors under the "Slushie" section of their menu. The order came quickly enough, but the CarHop brought a chocolate shake.
"Excuse me. I ordered a chocolate slushie. Not a shake," I explained. Rather then apologizing for the error and offering to correct it, she argued with me. "Um, we don't have chocolate slushies," she said. I insisted they did and tried to show her the flavor list on her own menu, but for some reason she didn't want to acknowledge that chocolate was a slushie option. "I've never heard of anybody ordering a chocolate slushie," she said. To which I responded, "is it possible you've never heard of it but it's still an option?" Finally she heaved a great, frustrated sigh, rolled her eyes and whined, "I guess I'll go talk to my manager."
She didn't. Instead, she sent another CarHop with ANOTHER chocolate shake saying, "here's your shake. Sorry for the inconvenience. We've gone ahead and refunded the cost of the shake." I explained I didn't want a shake. I wanted a chocolate slushie. "You have chocolate slushies, correct?" I asked. She seems surprised by the question. "Oh. Of course we do," she replied. She offered to bring the slushie, but by this time I was so frustrated with the bewildering laziness, incompetence, and belligerence of the first CarHop that I didn't want to wait around anymore.
I like the food at Sonic well enough. It's not the best fast food I've ever had, but it's not the worst either I enjoy the fact that they serve breakfast all day and I LOVE their mozzarella sticks! However, this experience really put a sour taste in my mouth. I know it was limited to the actions of a single person, but that single person represents the company when she is wearing the uniform and getting paid to do a service. I am unhappy with this experience. I will not be going back to this location. Is rather drive across town to...
Read moreI’m only giving 1star because I have to in order to make my post.
I pull up to a stall with empty stalls around me... push the button and wait like usual.
After waiting 5 minutes, an SUV pulls up to my left and is assisted immediately. Literally a minute later, another SUV pulls up to my right, I immediately hear the guy ask for the manager... twice.
A woman walks out dragging her feet with a headset on, walks passed my car and starts speaking to the guy in the SUV to my right as if she knows the guy.
I sit for a few moments, I get annoyed so I push the button again. My monitor beeps and immediately the exact female to my right, starts speaking through her headset and I turn to her and she’s facing my car... She bends down to speak through the small crack of my passenger window to ask me what I needed - I mention to her that I had been sitting there for just about 8 minutes if not longer prior to the people around me and yet I’m just now being assisted. She states something of how MY stall hasn’t been working... I ask well how come no one came out to put a sign on the menu... she STATES, I didn’t know you were here. She then walks, dragging her feet to the driver side, bends down says sorry (without sounding as if she truly was) then asks again what I wanted.
At this point, I just look at her in disgust, and said nothing and as I put my seatbelt I explained she just lost a customer for the lack of Customer Service. She literally says OK, and walks right back to the car that was to my right as I pull out of the parking spot.
To the owner of this location,... you may want to make adjustments to your management ... it’s because of your management, I...
Read moreDuring this Coronavirus pandemic, it is extremely important to me that employees of various businesses employ protective measures to help prevent the spread of infection from one person to another. While I feel uneasy in general about eating at a restaurant right now, I did visit this Sonic location to get several beverages.
On this visit, I parked in a stall right next to the inside, viewable area of the restaurant. I was very impressed by the carhops who were ALL wearing masks (properly, too!) and after each time they went back inside, they used hand sanitizer, as well. The carhop who brought my drinks was cheerful and told me to "Be safe!". I have noticed that this particular location of Sonic seems to be very consistent about having friendly carhops!
By the way... the beverages I ordered were fantastic! Their brewed tea was fresh and not weak in flavor, and was elevated even further in taste by my special request for peach flavoring to be added. In my past visits when I have ordered food items here, the taste and temperature of the order was phenomenal, as well.
The outside of this Sonic is almost always well-kept and maintained with very little to no trash visible. The stall menus are clean and smudge-free, and there are no huge fuel or car fluid stains in the parking spaces of the stalls. The small eating area in front of the main employee entrance was clean and in order, and the trash cans appeared as though they had been recently emptied. As always, I tipped the carhop for excellent service, as they are providing convenience to me by bringing the drinks...
