The visit was pleasant but I feel the PA that saw myself and my husband needs more experience in patient care. Many of professionals haven't had enough patient care experience to evaluate the patient.s evidently. We were very sick with fevers of 100.8 or more for several days, extreme sore throats and coughs. We're in our 70s and illness needs attention quickly. No.viral tests were done for flu,, Covid ot RSV. We both had productive coughs of green/yellow sputum and copious amounts of yellow nasal discharge. After the exam it was declared We only had a virus (no testing) and go home. Because of underlying conditions of current cancer and high blood pressure I insisted that I be given an antibiotic and my husband also! This is the second time this person brushed off illness. My husband was in three weeks before with similar this visit and tested negative of the above and sent home. His current visit could have been a relapse of the previous condition. My point here being this person must not know how to listen to lungs because we both are currently still extremely ill coughing up the exudate mentioned. Fevers, coughs etc and weak. Being a hospital healthcare professional for over 40 years and worked in several units from ICU to the sepsis coordinator this is unacceptable. The PA seemed almost angry as he wrote our prescription out. And left abruptly. No goodbyes. Early in my career we all knew viral illness converts to bacterial in many cases and must be treated. I hate to think how we'd feel right now without these antibiotics! Whats going on? I should have brought in sputum specimens I guess. We never visit this Urgent care only in absolute need. To me this is unacceptable. Especially with another excellent hospital system close by. I worked for Saint Alphonsus for 10 years in Quality/Risk/ Sepsis management. It would take much for our conditions to go septic with the high fevers, pulse elevation and obvious signs of infectiom of the lungs. Patients need to be believed and not brushed off as to...
Read moreThey were great accept we had to wait almost four hours for them to get the prescription correct. My husband and I both went in and they had us see a doctor not covered by our insurance and didn't tell us. No problem they said it's was ok they had that figured out BUT the insurance would not cover our prescription. We called they said no worries they would call it in under one of the other doctors names. I went back to the pharmacy only to find out they fixed my husband's but not mine. An hour later I try again same issue I called the urgent care they assured me the nurse would fixed it. I had my infants doctor appointment that took about and hour went back to the pharmacy still no fixed prescription. By this time I have wait over three hours with a sick child. I am sick and honestly driving around a parking lot waiting for them to get there act together wasn't great. So yes they were nice they got us both in and they tried but seriously they fixed my husbands and made us wait over three hours to fix mine. It could have been done in five minutes with...
Read moreThe nurse that checked me in was very nice. The Nurse Practitioner I saw, in my opinion, was either new at her job, based on how she conducted herself or was just not a very nice person. Her bedside manner was terrible and unprofessional. She did not introduce herself, she was not friendly and she never called the pharmacy after prescribing the medication we agreed upon. She made me feel like I was "drug seeking" based on the medications i was inquiring. I am not a drug user. I have been having trouble sleeping and was seeking her professional guidance as to what medications could help with with this problem or what she thought could remedy this problem. She was rude and treated me like I was a drug user, rather than educate me on various medications and possible alternatives. I am still having trouble sleeping and have nothing to help with this problem. I hope there is training on how to be more compassionate with patients in need of help, no matter...
