Don't waste your money . Some friends gave us a basket recently for helping them with the construction of their new home . The basket looked wonderful and we were so appreciative of the gift but after sampling it we were so disappointed in the quality and quantity of the different selections that we feel like we need to tell them not to ever make that mistake again and save their money . you feel you need to make them aware that, it's not their fault but most of the items you needed to be desperate to eat them . There was a 6" box of candy that upon opening had 2 small pieces of individually wrapped candy and that was it . Another box almost as big had a bag with maybe 30 if that , white chocolate cranberries in it . As for the 2 kinds of cookies , again the packages look wonderful and you're expecting a specialty, designer type cookie that's described as a browy cookie that was tasteless and nothing but a waste of time just like the walnut cookies that were also apart of the basket and as equally unappealing.. This probably ranks as one of the biggest merchandising charades I think I have ever been exposed to . I just hate that friends spent hard earned money being thoughtful and not knowing what they really gave as a gift. Does anyone there ever eat...

Received a beautiful Cheer Tower Gift Basket from school at the teacher luncheon. When I opened it, I found one item with a sealed, but empty wrapper, and other items so stale they had no crisp to them. I called the Houdini, Inc number and found the customer service lady to be quite rude. She asked if I was just calling to let her know or what it is I wanted. She kept asking my name to trace the purchase, and I kept saying I didn't buy it so you won't find my name. She finally got it and then said basically too bad. If she didn't have the buyer's name there was nothing she could do. I think she should have offered to replace the missing or stale items. I won't be purchasing from them...

We live in age of imaginative sleaze, best epitomized by outfits such as Houdini Inc. Their genius is to make up gift baskets which look to be full of goodies and then build cardboard bases so that there is more air than goodies. Pay attention, if it says "distributed by Houdini" buy something else. SLEAZE RULES!! Go Houdini!! The canvas bag might get one star, would give this outfit no...
