Cato Fashions — Local services in Gainesville

I see there aren’t any recent or updated reviews here. So adding mine based on recent experiences. It’s a Nice store, with decent fashions, (when they are opened that is). I understand the pandemic has been challenging for different businesses, but it’s been just as challenging trying to catch this store during a time they are actually opened. Various times over the past few months whether going to pick up an item, return an item, or even just to stop in to shop while in the mall, they’ve been sporadically closed. Trying to call and getting some one to answer the phone to verify store openings & hours has been a challenge as well. When I finally did get through The Manager stated they were short-staffed and had to open/close when able. I can sympathize with that, however, it again just Makes it pretty hard to shop,return, & exchange etc…if you can only go during certain days and times. And the store is only opened during limited hours. And/or when the store is only open when they are staffed half the time.

Update: 9/20/22 Over the past month it seems the staff-shortage issue has gotten better. I don’t know if they hired new, or bringing in workers from other stores. But I haven’t had the conflicts of trying to shop or visit like I did throughout the summer. Hopefully it stays that way as I’ve been finding a lot of cute pieces there recently. And it’s the “closest & most convenient”...

Love shopping at Cato's. Today it was close to 100 these employees did not have working air conditioning. It was so hot in there my cheeks were red and I was sweating ,even worse when I tried in clothes I was all sweaty, yuck. The DM Cheryl should have told them to close the store due to no air and paid the employees for missed work due to unsafe working conditions. DM can take the rest up with the property manager. DM needs to take care of their employees!! It is not the employee's fault and employees should NOT have to use their paid time off for employer not having safe environment for them to work in. Managers, do the RIGHT thing and take responsibility like you should without hesitation! I went next door and got the employees gallons of ice cream to cool them off. Bless...

A fun clothing store. Unfortunately, for little ladies, the Plus size selection has increased more than Petites.Not prejudice by any means, just pointing out that it's no longer as available for Petites.Nevertheless, a truly nice up to date selection of items. Shoes,purses, jewelry and undergarments in a small selection are available also.I love the fact,That not only dresses have increased, but I can always find really pretty skirts and tops in my size there. Skirts aren't as available in the other stores in the Lake shore Mall.Prices are very good and they will order sizes for items you fall in Love with.Admittedly, I find myself browsing there whenever in the Mall.Never being pushed or...
