Great American Cookies — Local services in Gainesville

So, I have been enjoying cookie cakes from this location since I was in middle school and now my kids want them for their birthdays too - and THEY are in middle school as well, so that's about 30 years of Great American Cookie love for my household.

The individual cookies here really are truly GREAT. Doozies and Dinky Doozies were one of my first loves growing up. How can you not drool over a cookie sandwich full of perfect frosting?

The brownies here are amazing too and y'all, if you haven't had one, they are now making Brownie DOOZIES - the one I had with peanut butter frosting is to DIE for.

BUT, this last cookie cake I got my daughter for her birthday this past weekend was not good! It was like a thin crust cookie cake or something, it was only half the thickness of the cakes in the past. Maybe good for dieters? Sad day though when my daughter bit into hers at her birthday party.

I think the recession is taking its toll on Great American Cookies and they are trying to save money on dough while charging us the same amount for a cookie cake - and listen, a $30 cookie is already shelling out a lot, ya know? I may get one more cookie cake just to see if it was a fluke, but if this is how they treat their customers, I'll skip the overpriced giant cookie and just be sticking to Doozies...

Ordered a cake days in advance since I knew the day I needed the order would be extremely busy. When I went in to pick up my order, it was not made nor could they even locate my order form. Fortunately they were able to create one (not the size I actually needed) in about 15 minutes, but as stated, they were not 15 minutes I had to spare which is why I placed the order in the first place. I am grateful they were at least able to provide a cake, but they were non-apologetic and did not care about the time constraints. If an order is not going to be ready when expected, do not make...

This is more of a PSA than a negative review: In the past, they advertise one hour cookie cakes. I called today to order my son’s cake for his party later this afternoon and they refused to take my order. Apparently, it’s not always one hour. Tough thing to advertise and not honor when you have a 9-year old’s party on the line. 😩 Their cakes are good. And everyone is nice. Just don’t trust or go by the one hour cookie cake advertisement because it will bite...
