New York Nails — Local services in Gainesville

I had a great experience this morning at New York Nails. The customer service that I received from all (3) staff on duty was STELLAR. They offered me a bottle of water. The music choice was A+, I knew all the songs and the words. LOL. I received a pedicure and I truly felt like I was being pampered from the time I walked in the door to exiting out. The smile that greeted me as I entered felt very welcoming and appreciative. I came in with old acrylic on both of my big toes and the one next to it, and staff patiently removed it. Lastly, I came in with GEL press on nails that I wanted my toes to match. The first color I picked out turned out to not be the matching color as I had chosen. They had already polished one set of my toes, but they patiently removed the wrong color. Staff then went out of their way to find a matching GEL polish for me, and they actually did. KUDOS to NEW YORK Nails. I will be returning. They were go good, I paid for my services and tipped the (2) staff that worked on my feet $10.00 each. Note: This year I have been to a few local nail salons in Alachua County. I was actually dreading trying to find another nail salon because of my past experience of poor customer service, not feeling welcomed, feeling rushed, polish chipping within a day or two, etc. I have an event and I will be celebrating my wedding anniversary weekend; therefore, I really wanted my feet to look as good as my nails. NEW YORK Nails delivered today, they serviced me WELL. I will definitely return there and I will recommend others...

EDIT: The gel polish I had them put on my toes is also lifting and peeling after one week and three days!!! It was recommended to me to be longer lasting - I usually wear regular and it’s extremely rare that I have any chipping and that usually lasts me three whole weeks. $56 down the drain on this place - it SUCKS!!!!!!

I have no idea how this place has good reviews after being treated like I was today. I went in to get a gel manicure last Wednesday, because I was leaving on vacation Saturday. One week later - the gel is peeling off of every single one of my nails. Gel manicures last THREE WEEKS at my usual place - no chipping, no lifting. Since I am 15 hours away from home on vacation, I called and requested a refund because I had to spend another $30+ to get my nails re-done while I’m here. The guy who answered the phone told me no, and that I could come in and get them fixed. I told him that’s not possible because I’m five states away and I need to get them fixed right away, to avoid any fungus growing between the lifting gel and my actual nail. He laughed at me and hung up on me. I have never been treated like this in almost ten years of getting my nails done. I am disgusted that I wasted my hard-earned money on...

Had a horrible experience. I went in the shop and asked if they provided body wax services and they said yes. After waiting for 20 mins they took me in and i asked the lady again if they do body waxing and she said yes again. I asked her several other questions, she didnt seem to understand and went away and sent another girl. That girl came in and i asked her once again if they do body waxing services and she said yes and asked me to lie downa and started doing waxing. By seeing their small strips and small wooden wax applier, i suspected something was not right and i kept asking questions to the girl but she just kept going. She literally scrapped by hand off and i had to stop her in 3 strokes itself. My whole arm has a rash now.
