I occasionally purchase seeds for my garden here and have had a lot of success with the local varieties, very well suited for the area. I wanted to highlight this plant in particular: I was given a free squash in the fall and told to save the seeds, Seminole pumpkin x butternut squash variety I believe. Wow! It has taken off. I gave these three plants about ten feet to climb and they have taken over! Super healthy and vigorous. I harvested a couple squash early and they are beautifully sweet, buttery and delicious. Great resource to have in Gainesville, thank you!

A beautiful community center with knowledgeable and experienced staff. The goals are food resiliency and local sustainability. This organization provides support to small food businesses, local farms and caterers. There is a brand new community kitchen for preparing foods and canning. There are freezers for community use. The community center hosts a variety of events and classes and workshops, monthly garden club meetings, weekly yoga classes, lectures and hands on workshops such as making your own ferments and your own solar energy projects. It's also headquarters for Southern Heritage Seed Collective, where members can pick up packs of locally saved seeds for our gardens. There,s a beautiful courtyard for concerts and parties with raised herb beds. Stop by and visit our new vibrant and busy community center where there's something...

I love working food . It is an awesome venue . To have an event . Outdoors and in. You can space people pretty good . The are great Non Profit . They always step up to help in any emergency. Comewith excellent ideas how to help working with others in the community. Very Embodied in the community . Reaching out to connect for best way to help folk . Will always put needs of others first in emergency situation . Example connecting farmers to to get produce to people. When farmer markets had to shut down. Working partnered with Milreds to get meals made and dilivered to shut in’s quickly , Till better plans cou;d be made . They jump in with both feet without hesitation . They ask for collaborated help to make it to work. Always looking out for betterment for all....

Our daughter had a fantastic experience at the Farm to Feast Summer Camp in Gainesville ! Over the course of three days, she learned where food comes from and how it’s grown, gaining hands-on experience both in the garden and the kitchen. As a gymnast and swimmer, she especially benefited from the camp’s focus on healthy eating and culinary skills.

She came home excited about everything she learned and already told us she wants to return next summer. We loved that the camp also helped her connect with her local community. We’re hoping next year the program will be extended to a full week—it was...
