Megamart Gaithersburg — Local services in Gaithersburg

The store was very crowded. Workers are restocking all day, often blocking aisles and walk-throughs with boxes, unattended ladders, further blocking the very narrow aisles. The floors are wet and dirty. It was raining during my visit. I am disabled and nearly fell walking into the store. There weren't adequate mats to cover the wet floor. There wasn't an attempt to clean/dry the entrance or throughout the store. However, there were signs throughout the store denying any liability for slips or falls (enter at your own risk) kind of situation! They charge cash for items that are EBT eligible. (Example : Tea) Their prices are ridiculously high! I suppose it's because they cater mostly to the Latino/ Hispanic community and sell food items you wouldn't find easily elsewhere. I feel ripped off. Another example is a large bottle of Simply Lemonade; most places will charge between $3 to $4 dollars at most, right? This place sells the exact same product for a whopping $8 dollars!!! That's more than a 50% mark-up! Also, you must make sure to bring your shopping bags, or be prepared to pay 25 cents per bag!!! They do have a meat market within the store; however, the sanitation is questionable!!! Example: flies all around the exposed...

In my experience, the megamart of Manassas va has been better than this location in Gaithersburg VA. Much larger store and the employees seem to be kinder. We needed to use the restroom. We asked a male employee where the bathrooms were. He said for the women’s restroom that I would have to go up and ask the women in the front for the key. So, my boyfriend came with me and we went to ask the ladies in front for the key. As soon as we walked up they looked at us in disgust and judgment (mainly towards me). We asked for the key and they said the women’s restroom was closed. Based on their body language, voice, and attitude both of us suspected they were lying. So we went to ask someone at the connected bakery, and they confirmed the women we asked for the key were lying. OMG, this is horrible place,be careful when you pay food from this place,you might get sick,i pay 2 cups of atol with my son, i stand in the line for few minutes ,suddenly a guy walk in and return the atol that he paid, when i asked the lady i want two atol,she give me the one that the guy return,i told her no i don't want that ,i want a new one ,i don't want to accept a food that been returned by another person, she told me it's new and i said no, even thou is new that food is been out in the store,your not supposed to sell food that been returned by another customer, then another lady give me a new one then suddenly she put all of them in the same tray,she mixed them with the one who's been return,i told her why did you mixed them,now how can i tell which on is new,she keep saying, the one that's been returned is new, that is so crazy,you can't sell a food that the other person returned.. ,this place need to be reported... i will...
