I ordered a special using the Popeyes app, which suggested and offered me the Festive Family Box for $20. With one upgrade, the price was $20.50 plus tax. The app asked me to confirm the order by item, not by price. When I paid, my card was charged $39. Later I found out that was the full nondiscounted price of each individual item.
I asked about the price discrepancy at the store before accepting the order, and the manager told me that the store only fulfills food orders and is not responsible for prices charged in the app. The order was already paid and there was nothing to do but take home the food.
I posted an inquiry/complaint through the app. The person who responded said that I was overcharged, and that it was the fault of the store. They posted a partial food credit to my app account (not a refund) and told me to be careful in the future not to fall into this trap again. They said that they will tell the store to stop overcharging.
I will not be inclined to order at this location again. The employees I saw were busily engaged with serving customers and getting the orders out fast. But management claims that the store is not responsible for charging almost double the advertised price. It failed to honor the offer that prompted me to make the purchase in the first place, dealt in bad faith, and told me that I would have to take up my complaint with the app. That is a dealbreaker.
There are plenty of other places to eat.
Update: The situation has not been corrected.
Owner: if you really want to win back my business and earn a positive review, then refund the overcharge, which is the right...
Read moreThe atmosphere of this location is terrible! The workers are rude from the cashier to the management.
I tried to get refund for my food that looked dry and disgusting and they said we don't do refunds (Lie). I told them I bought this last night but didn't see how bad it looked until I got home.
Then my cashier took the food and showed it to a random cook in the back showing them and having them say "we didn't do refunds"
All the while the manager did nothing. Finally the assistant manager a young boy took money out of the thing and slammed it on counter and walked away.
This is disgusting customer service I ever seen in Gaithersburg.
They need to better training. I wasn't rude I was calm and polite. I'm not sure if this was a racial thing or not but it was very terrible service. To make it worse they were so rude to older couple who was simply asking for courtesy cup of water.
The cashier walked over showing that the water didn't work being very rude the process. Someone walked over and show them actually it did work in fact and the...
Read morePopeyes is my goto for the Chicken Sandwich wars. I also like their fries. I was in this area and visited this store for the first time in a long time. There is no Drive-Thru so walk-in counter service is the only option as of this writing. There are two customers ahead of me. The staff's demeanor is flat and robotic, going thru the motions on a day at work. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich Combo w/ Fries.
Food came out quickly. I asked for two sauces but was told I could have only one with a sandwich combo. The sandwich was hot, crispy and familiar. The taste and temp of the fries was fine but the quantity was minimal compared to more generous portions at other Popeyes I've been to.
This store must be working on their food costs by portion control and limiting post-sale condiments. It was roughly 2p so I can't judge the activity of the store based on this one experience. I'd like like to give them another chance but won't go in with high...
