Lil’ Cakes & Creamery — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

The experience purchasing a cake topper for my sons 2nd birthday was so negative. I was working with on woman that was very nice, but this other lady was sooooo rude!! Once she found out all I was purchasing was a cake topper she was not interested in helping me. I was told over the phone to “bring the cake you want the topper on and we can do it for you” (this was the nice lady that told me this) once I got there the other lady came and said “ we do not work on cakes we haven’t made” it was fine because I didn’t even expect them to anyway, but I was told they could so I came with my cake. It was the fact the lady was so rude about it. While the nice lady was printing my picture the rude lady was moving my cake away and even asked me to remove my cake from the store because it wasn’t made by them. When it was time to pay my card wasn’t working so I had to get cash from my car on the way out I heard her say “wow so broke” she is completely unprofessional and I really hope she isn’t the owner smh. The store is Beautiful and most of the staff is great, but one sour apple can ruin your experience. I honestly believe if you are not spending a lot of money there then she isn’t interested in helping you and that is very unprofessional. I really hope she changes her attitude so my next visit is more Pleasant...

So I stumbled in this place from doing a Lyft drop off, I was in the mood for some Ice cream and happened to love that this lil gem offered cupcakes which is my fave.

However, I think I should have went a lil more commercial if I were to look for something tasty.

The good- Customer service was great, very welcoming and inviting and actually wanted to help you. The atmosphere was definitely giving bakery which was a good vibe and they had many options to choose from, even offering Vegan and Gluten free choices. I got the regular option.

Idk if this place doesn’t like sugar or what, but the Birthday cake cupcake and ice cream were very bland. I’m like where is the flavor????

I did enjoy my carrot cake cupcake, I think moreso the frosting than the actual cake. I don’t know if flavor is necessary when having treats it is for me. Just try this place for yourself.

Side note- my cupcake was messed up because of how the boxed was closed. I was a lil upset...

Terrible customer service. Lady up front was very rude and impatient. I walked in with my 7 year old daughter to get an after school treat. My daughter...like any 7 year old couldn’t decide if she wanted a cupcake or ice cream. The individual working behind the counter asked three separate times if we knew what we wanted. Then very coldly asked if my daughter had at least decided on ice cream or a cupcake. There was NO ONE else in the store, so we weren’t holding up anyone else. Finally, we settle on cupcakes. I attempt to order 2 red velvet cupcakes and I’m told I can’t order two because those are the last two for the day...I’m sorry no where did it say there was a limit on how many cupcakes we could order? Then we go to pay and she initially charges me $19.01 for 6 cupcakes, then says she made a mistake and gave me a discount I wasn’t supposed to have and charges me a bit more. Good cupcakes, but lousy customer service. Definitely don’t want to come back after my...
