I purchased 2 bedroom sets and a dining table in early 2022. I had no problems. I had no hesitation in spending over $4,000 to furnish a 10x10 room. Lydia Manhold was an awesome sales person and I would think she would say the sale was pretty easy and I was pleasant to deal with. Please read this to the end because if I knew how bad their customer service was I wouldnât have been so trusting. I took delivery of two couches and 3 tables and because the painters were not done I asked the delivery people to leave the tables right outside the door in the hallway. I signed for the furniture and did not expect it closely. What a big mistake to have a reasonable expectation that the furniture would be delivered without an issue and in good quality. When the painters were done the pieces were slid into the room. We are talking less than 10 feet! It was then that I noticed that one piece of furniture was damaged. I immediately emailed pictures to Lydia. Today Lydia emailed me back and said I had to contact customer service. I did and i once again was told to send the pictures. Kim got back to me and basically said that she spoke to the delivery people and the warehouse and it never would have been delivered it âthat wayâ. Kim told me I should read the back of the receipt and that are you ready for this, âI waited two days and anything could have happenedâwhile the furniture was in my house. That was it, no apology, no offer to make it right. What a tough lesson I learned to think when you spend a lot of money on furniture you should expect a certain quality and a flawless delivery. I feel this was handled horribly by Kim and she basically told me in her own words that it was her word against mine. She told me âI guess we are going to have to agree to disagreeâ. I am blown away by this and would be happy to take a lie detector test if her warehouse and delivery people did the same. Ok Kim and before you try and bash me and say I write a lot of bad reviews please know that I donât and it takes a lot for me to write any reviews and the service has to be exceptional or horrible. Before you buy into the buy local mantra and how long they have been in business please look at the comments about the quality of some of their furniture. And what ever you do donât be nice and trusting and tip delivery people and have any expectations that you are dealing with a classy company. You wonât be with GC Furniture.
Who would have thought you could spend close to $20,000 in less than two years at a store thatâs a few miles from where you live and be treated like this. Buyer beware! Youâve...
Read moreThis furniture store has nice furniture, but the customer service is quite possibly the worst I have ever experienced. I just recieved my first call from them after waiting two months and was practically told that nothing that occurred was their fault. I purchased a sectional and explained where I lived and that it had some stairs and turns to make in order to get it in my living room. The salesperson said no problem she had furniture delivered here many times. Date of delivery came and the delivery people tried for over an hour to get it up the stairs. During all this, there were dings and knicks to the walls as well as to the entry way light fixture. They finally said the sofa would not fit. I was told I would have to go back and pick something else out. The guys tried and I did tip them. This was evidently a bad thing, because customer service admitted the walls and light were dinged and bent but since I tipped them it must have been okay. I went back and picked out another living room set. They once again tried to deliver but ended up having to call the delivery manager. He was able to get it in within a few minutes. He attempted to repair the light fixture by screwing it back in, but it was bent. I was told to forward pictures of the damages, which I did. Two months and three emails later I received a phone call from again, quite possibly the rudest customer service rep I have ever come into contact with, she was instantly defensive and attempting to blame me. She claimed have attempted to call me back twice, which makes zero sense, of course If I had a message I would call back, its my entryway. She questioned my tipping the delivery men, she said the light was screwed back in and she proceed to be defensive when she readily admitted that she had seen the pictures of the gauges, scrapes and bent light fixture, but had not seen the email in which they were sent. No apologies just blame to me. So my advice as to this place is Let the Buyer Beware! There is no customer...
Read moreNot happy. Customer service is horrible. I purchased a special order Ekornes Stressless chair and it was delivered in April. It is a power chair. Meaning that to be comfortable in the chair, it needs to have power so it can be positioned comfortably. The power cord and transformer I received were not the right one for this chair. Asked them to send me the correct one. Nope. Got the battery pack. Took it back, they reordered and I got the wrong charger. Took it back and they reordered the battery pack again. Today my husband went to finally pick up the power cord and it was wrong again. It has been ten months of not having the correct power cord for my $3000 chair. Really???! To add insult to injury, the âcustomer serviceâ manager said it wasnât their fault. First it was the fault of Ekornes because according to them, they ordered the correct item and Ekornes sent the wrong one. Really? 5 times ?? then it was my fault for blowing out the transformer by using it on the wrong chair. (I fortunately have another Ekornes power chair that came with the correct power cord that works on my chair...otherwise it would be a piece of sculpture in my living room). Since I never plugged the non-working transformer into my other chair, I fail to understand her logic. They need a different customer service manager, and they have lost a customer forever. I have gone to a different Ekornes dealer to get...
