Was there visiting & it was the 2nd time at this location. Waited over 30 minutes for our food and my crrab cake benedict had to be sent back b/c not only was the cook new but he put too much hollandaise sauce on it. Was not given any side items right away until 3 minutes after the fact. My husband ask for cheese on his grits, didn’t get that. When my food finally came out it was fine but our server didn’t take but 10 seconds to apologize for the mistake and didn’t really check up on us at all. Once we got the bill we never got discounted for anything considering everything took so long to come out and my food had to be sent back. I used to be a restaurant manager, so therefore I know what good customer service is. And I usually tip more than 15% but tipped below the gratuity guidelines. And used to live in the MB area so comings there was something that I was looking forward to b/c eggs up grill was familiar to me. Will not be back at this location. Really wished we were at least offered a discount for everything otherwise I probably wouldn’t be writing this terrible review. The only thing good I can say is the host staff was kind, courteous, and prompt and pretty sure younger than who the blond waitress we had. Will be calling possibly to follow up later but we didn’t complain at the time because we were on a time limit to get back home & did not want to cause a scene on which seemed like a normal busy Sunday. You guys should be used to a busy crowd b/c MB area is a major tourist attraction. And if the cook was new he should have been properly trained on at least how much sauce to put on a benedict. Today was absolutely horrible. Our food took awhile to get out and missing a whole meal. Our server was missing during delivery of the food. half our plates were over cooked. After waiting another 15 minutes to receive the missing meal (veggie wrap with home fries), my oldest had to use the restroom. On our way there I noticed the meal sitting in the window and servers were in the back talking. On our way back from the restroom it was still sitting under the warmer. Upon sitting we waited maybe little over 5 minutes and it finally arrived at the table. At this time our servers mother (she told us our server was her daughter) came out with excuses. Now that everyone was done eating I had to eat alone. While trying to eat as fast as possible I found a hair in my food. I could not finish my food. When presenting the food with hair on it to a working the split the plate all over me and the floor. If you enjoy eating alone while your family waits, food having hair and other plates over cooked then this is a place to go. It was not busy. I am a server and bartender myself. The good. My pancakes and my wife’s eggs/hash tasted very good.
The bad. No refills on empty coffee cups. Amanda dropped my wife’s toast, her question to my wife, “I dropped your toast, did you really want it, I can see if the chef will make more”. No, that’s okay. Then, my wife’s home fries were raw. Seasoned nicely but raw. Amanda was shocked. She investigated and explained. “We’ve got a new guy. Normally we cook the potatoes the night before so they only needed to be warmed up when people order them. The new guys cut and seasoned them but never cooked them. It was weird because another family was in and none of them ate their fries. I guess I’ve been serving raw potatoes this morning”.
Your policy it to cook potatoes the night before? They are home fries, they don’t take long to make.
Amanda didn’t take anything off of our bill. The food was affordable but if we aren’t given all of what we ordered, should we be charged for it? I didn’t want to bring anything up to Amanda, she was very vocal and complained loudly about a lot of things.
