Franklin Square III - Shopping Center — Local services in Gastonia

So, I went to visit family in NC and they wanted to try a restaurant called Portofino's in Gastonia, NC. I don't even know where to start. How about first of all the food wasn't authentic, and it lacked seasoning tremendously. A little bit of salt goes a long way. I wanted to leave after receiving my appetizer, but my waitress was so wonderful (Ms. Elsa) that I stayed for my entree. Huge MISTAKE! The shrimp was over cooked (rubbery) I never tasteshrimp jerky until tonight. The meat to pasta and sauce ratio is off. The restaurant is outdated and I should've known to leave when I saw other people order, take one bite of their food and leave without finishing. Plus, to put the cherry on top, they don't offer a military discount, police officer discount etc. I would highly recommend to eat at Olive Garden instead of Portofino's, and I don't even like the food at Olive garden. It's a big old sprawling (half empty for many years) strip mall. I only patronize their Tuesday Morning, Roses, Salvation Army and Jackson Cafeteria for my occasional but limited shopping needs. Crazy, dysfunctional, one way traffic pattern that hardly anyone obeys, and NO trash cans ANYWHERE! It's no wonder Gastonia's considerable, aimlessly wondering, homeless population clamor to litter the place up overnight! When it's rainy I walk my dog there, trodding up and down the super long, covered awning that lines this entire, beleaguered strip mall. Actually, it's a pretty filthy place, but my pooch and I carefully manage to muddle along quickly and at least stay dry as nowhere else in Gastonia is as architecturally accommodating on a rainy day. Visiting Value City Furniture Store in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania was the highlight of my day! Upon entering, the welcome freshness of the immaculately kept building was obvious. I was enticed to wander isle after isle, viewing each beautifully orchestrated bay.
