EZPAWN — Local services in Gatesville

Been a customer of this pawn shop for 10 years. As far as getting a loan off of a pawned item, you're not going to get very much better in town. The other guy in there McDonald's will give you pennies-on-the-dollar in a pawn loan. And the employees for the most part are really nice compared to most pawn shop employees.

However it does come with its drawbacks.

They charge about 20% interest per month on a pawn loan. If you want to get a car title loan they require that you essentially hand over your vehicle completely. And everything they selling their is ridiculously overpriced. Especially weapons such as swords or Firearms. They will often sell a used beat-up firearm either at the new MSRP price or even above it hoping that they can scam somebody out of their money. However, it needs to be noted that those prices are not determined by the employees in the store, but some corporate computerized system that tells them the minimums and maximums of what can be pawned/sold.

Recently put a sword and a spear on layaway. Only to find out the next month around the time I was supposed to make my next payment, that the sword was being sold for $50 more than suggested NEW price retail (the sword was also beat to hell and full of dirt/rust). And the spear which was bent and with a thick coating of rust was being sold for near brand new MSRP. The $40 that I had put down on the items was confiscated by EZ Pawn for their restocking fee. Not only did they scam me into layaway items that were severely overpriced for their condition, they kept everything that I had paid so far. And I currently have a layaway for a pistol that was an old police turn in. It was scratched, faded with department serial numbers poorly etched on the receiver. It was being sold for nearly the currently new MSRP price on Cabela's.

My suggestion is that if you're going to buy a firearm or weapon or anything else, don't do it here. For the prices they sell things you might as well buy brand new.

Highly recommend the EZ Pawn in Gatesville.. I can't brag enough on the awesome staff at this particular location for always being so helpful. When I walk through the door, I am always greeted like family right away by everyone. They always have smiles on their faces and carry themselves very professionally.
