Our New Favorite Spot—Totally Unexpected!

Today, my husband and I decided to try something new—and ended up checking out two places we’d never been to before.

Our first stop was a café we hadn’t tried before. We grabbed two drinks, which came out to $16.33—not terrible, but honestly not worth it. His drink was watered down with barely any flavor, and while mine was okay, it just didn’t hit the spot.

As we drove off, we passed by another little place again—one my husband had heard good things about. We had driven past it earlier in the day, and this time I looked at him and said, “Let’s stop and see what they have.” So we turned around—and that’s when we discovered Caffeinated Baker. And I’m SO glad we did.

The moment we walked in, I noticed a painted heart on the wall that said, “Someone is praying for you.” That small touch instantly gave the whole place a warm and comforting vibe.

They had a display of food near the counter that looked big, homemade, and seriously delicious. My husband got the Cookies & Cream frappe, and I went with the White Chocolate frappe. Both were amazing. The only thing we’d change is to ask for a little more ice blended in next time—but that’s just personal preference.

While waiting for our food, we checked out the menu and noticed they offer a weekly special menu that features something different every day—so there’s always something new to look forward to. One that really caught our eye was the jalapeño soup with salad or grilled cheese. They also offer online ordering, which is a huge bonus!

Right now, I personally feel like this place has more of a grab-and-go setup but they do have three small tables inside that sits 2 people for a dine in experience 🩵 which the table we sat at had Tik tac toe game which we found ourselves playing while we waited. I can totally see within time they will growing into a full sit-down café. You can already tell how much they have grown already.

They also sell some really cute and thoughtful items—alcohol-infused cherries (definitely trying those next time), kids’ books, mom-themed cups, and mugs for teachers. Those personal touches make it feel like more than just a café—it feels personal.💖

Now, let’s talk about the food. We ordered the deluxe grilled cheese—and wow‼️I expected something basic, but this was next-level. The lemon-seasoned bread was packed with flavor, and the sandwich was stacked with ham. It even came with a bag of Lay’s chips. Hands down the best grilled cheese/ham combo I’ve ever had. I wish I had snapped a photo, but we devoured it too fast. 😅

The second best part: we got two drinks and two sandwiches for just $20.33. We truly thought it was going to be at least $25 or more based on the quality and portions—especially considering we paid nearly $17 earlier for just two specialty drinks similar to the ones we ordered here. We personally thought this was way better value, better flavor, and a better overall experience.

We’ll definitely be back. Caffeinated Baker just earned its spot as our new go-to. I can’t wait to come back, try more specials, and watch them grow—because they’re already doing...

Coffee was fairly good, served on the lukewarm side but good taste. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese and waited for about 15 minutes, watched another customer order and receive biscuits and gravy in that time. Was told at 15minutes no one had made or they had forgotten to make the bagel with cream cheese. Waited another 5 minutes, at that point all employees were in the back joking around and enjoying themselves and I had to leave for work. Unfortunately I left a tip when I made my order so in all I paid about 11 dollars for a coffee and a lesson about trying new places. I'll just stick to home made coffee and HEB pastries for now. I will say they had some good looking loaves of bread on consignment...

I can not get enough of this little place!!! The atmosphere is amazing! The women that work there are so adorable. They are sweet and very helpful if you’re indecisive in your choice. They are very accommodating and they want your experience to be the best! The chocolate chip cookies are the world’s best!!!! They are also huge! The cheese danishes with fresh blueberries is a close second favorite. You have to stop by and try them when you’re in town or passing through! You will not...
