Where do I even begin? I had issues getting in the front door, we walk in and of course at first glance seemed beautiful, then we turned the lights on and the nightmare ensued. There were DEAD ladybugs all over all the floors window sills and furniture, when speaking to customer care its because "they are an endangered species" , apparently even when dead. The cleanliness was not clean either, we had to go through sweep mop even the bedding was gross and full of holes in some rooms! The futon had stains, The red leather couch downstairs looked like 200 cats were declawed on it, there was a cockroach, dead laying on the bathroom floor, multiple fixtures in many bathrooms were missing and or just laying on the floor, missing handles from bedroom drawers as well. The worst part? the pool room, ladies and gentleman, the pictures is NOT what it looks like, there was no chairs in the room, not that anyone would want to sit in it. it was rotting. the paint chipping rust EVERYWHERE including INSIDE the pool, the furniture in the room was broken and again rusted as well, it was so nasty we couldn't even swim in it. When we spoke to someone they said its an old pool and they will tell the owner it needs updating and they had no idea, but whats crazy is while we were trying to get rhe wifi to work,(YES THE WIFI DIDNT WORK WHEN WE GOT THERE) there was a wifi network called "crappy pool" available but we couldnt connect. The benches in the kitchen and the two chairs downstairs had to be put away because they were falling apart, so bad maintenance said he couldnt fix them and told us to put them i the storage closet. One of our fridges didnt work it was badly dented, they did bring us another fridge that night from the 70s it was white and gross, huge eyesore! The pillars outside had huge nails sticking out from them and the pillars were sitting on rotting wood that was literally chipping away, the railings were very unsafe as well, well the ones we had access to as a week before our vacation we were told the side steps to the third floor and the top deck was closed so we didnt even get to have that feature! The poker table upstairs, we lifted up and it was so nasty under there! leftover food spilled sticky stuff, you name it. The mattresses were all lopsided and felt like they were 20 years old The water took 20 mins running to get lukewarm water, and then dont be surprised when you have visitors and not cute animals. Our cabin was located at the end of a road in a cul de sac with one other cabin. One day the other cabin and my guests saw a man under our deck in the woods. he then cane to the road and stared at our cabin, he had a skimask on, army pants and large sticks he was twirling around and one in his pocket he kept like a weapon. the other cabin called, we called and were told to call the police, we call the police they wont do anything, i had to call 4-5 times and tell them to trespass this man!! I got this cabin for my friends and family attending my wedding, not only was I horrified by this experience, We all felt unsafe and I was sooo embarrassed for my family to stay there, Truly a nightmare. Even the maintenance man who came out said they are all in a call center in Ga and have never been to these cabins, he even took pictures and wrote down everything that was wrong because he said it was soo bad!! The "free tickets they offer for CfY members which I was apart of, if you go in a cold month like we did, they do not change out the activities so the waterpark was shutdown and we were just out those tickets, nothing to offer instead. Best part? when calling customer service not only does the number give you a recording like its not in service half the time, but when I did finally reach someone I was told theres nothing they can do its an old cabin, the most they can so for my trouble, time, and inconvenience was offer me a discounted stay in the future! Awful awful awful!! do not book with cabins for you! We stayed at Mountainview Paradise. Pictures attached...
Read moreWhen we found EOP and saw the pool we had to book it. I have been counting down the days to this trip. I love to swim and we had an entire day we were going to stay at the cabin and enjoy the pool, not to mention every night when we got back.
When we arrived on Wednesday, October 9 we walked in and the cabin appeared to be clean and fresh! As we walked around we noticed a few things, windows with broken seals and cloudiness, oily residue on the counter and crumbs under the placemats on the table. The deck is being repaired and whoever is doing the work doesn't quite understand the concept of "square". After removing our shoes we found there was a wet spot on the carpet as we walked into the bedroom. We then walked to the basement to see the pool, which was the reason for booking this property. I immediately put my feet in the water and was shocked at how cold it was. I noticed a sign that that the pool was maintenence on Mondays and Thursday's so I called Cabins For You to ask if the pool is serviced with guests and alerted them to the tempature, they advised they would have the pool vendor check the tempature the following day. That evening we went to bed and were woken up by an animal in the attic making loud scratching and chewing noises. This went on most of the night. The next morning I called to report the wet floor, the animal (probably a squirrel) the pool, and we had also discovered the fire place inside did not work. We also tried to hang up clothes but there was so much stuff in the closet I had to rearrange things to hang up my husband's shirts there were several filters for the furnace. On October 10 the pool vender arrived. He told us the pool was colder than normal, he wanted to check the breaker. He came back in and said the breaker was popped, the pool will be warmer that night. We were then greeted at Brian from CFY who looked for a leak to see why the carpet was wet and looked at the fireplaces. We left and he left us a note about what he found out. That night we returned and my husband checked the breaker and saw the breaker was blown again. He said you could not reset it, which tells us the vendor must not have been able to fix earlier that day. Friday, Oct 11, I called again about the pool and to get an update on all the other things. At this point we had discovered the light under the microwave didn't work, the light next to the bed only worked half the time and when we went to look for board games mentioned in the listing there was only one. That morning we spoke to Amanda. She read over the notes, gave us an update from Brian's visit and advised she would put in a work order for the pool and I mentioned the animal in the attic. I called back at 745pm that evening to get an update, Amanda answered again and she remembered me especially when I mentioned the attic animal. She gave me an update, including wildlife wouldnt be out till Monday...... and we were leaving Sunday the 14th. The other updates we learned none of our work orders were going to be fixed before we left.
I sent the owner an email about our experiance and have yet to hear...
Read moreI am absolutely disgusted and heartbroken by my experience with Cabins For You, and I feel compelled to warn everyone—do NOT use this company under any circumstances. My family and I rented one of their cabins, expecting a peaceful getaway, but instead, we walked into a nightmare. The property was a complete mess—dirty, neglected, and clearly not cared for. It was obvious from the moment we arrived that this company has zero respect for their cabins or the people who rent them. Stains on the furniture, dusty surfaces, and a musty smell greeted us, but the worst was yet to come.
We discovered bed bugs in the bedroom on the very first night. BED BUGS! My skin crawls just thinking about it. We found them crawling on the sheets, biting us, and ruining what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. I called their customer service immediately, practically begging them to do something—move us to a new cabin, send someone to fix the problem, anything. But they didn’t care. They brushed us off like we were nothing, saying they’d “look into it” and then never followed up. We were left to deal with this infestation on our own, sleeping in a car one night because we couldn’t stomach staying in that filthy cabin.
To make matters worse, they took our money—every single cent—and refused to refund us even after we explained the unbearable situation. We paid hundreds of dollars for a place that wasn’t even livable, and they couldn’t be bothered to show an ounce of decency or accountability. It’s theft, plain and simple. They didn’t care that we were suffering; they just wanted our cash and that was it.
And here’s the part that cuts the deepest: I truly believe race played a role in how they treated us. We’re a Black family, and every time I tried to get help, I felt dismissed, ignored, and disrespected. The tone on the phone, the lack of urgency—it was like they didn’t take us seriously because of who we are. I’ve dealt with enough in life to know when something feels off, and this company’s blatant disregard for us reeked of racism. They wouldn’t even hear us out, let alone try to make things right. It’s 2025, and yet here we are, still dealing with companies that treat Black customers like we don’t matter.
I’m beyond disappointed—I’m furious. This was supposed to be a special trip for my family, and Cabins For You turned it into a humiliating, stressful disaster. Save yourself the heartache, the bites, and the frustration—do not give this company your business. They don’t care about their properties, they don’t care about their customers, and they certainly don’t care about fairness or integrity. Take your money elsewhere, because Cabins For You...
