đ Stunning Mountain Escape with Modern Comforts
We stayed in Room 202 and had a wonderful experience. The views were absolutely breathtakingâeasily the best part! While there was some construction visible below, it didnât impact the serene atmosphere and will likely be gone in the future.
đĄ The unit was brand new, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The beds were comfortable with quality pillows (no flimsy ones here!), and the master bathroom was a standoutâwith dual shower heads (rain + regular) and a luxurious soaking tub. The kitchen came well-stocked with utensils and cookware, making meal prep easy. There were plenty of towels, and the black washcloths were perfect for makeup removal without staining the white ones.
đ§Œ Starter supplies like shampoo, conditioner, laundry and dish detergent were appreciated and lasted through our stay. The room includes an adjoining doorâyou can hear neighbors through it, but ours were considerate and quiet by 11 PM.
đ„ The pool and firepits added great atmosphere to the property. We used the hot tub once, but unfortunately, it was overrun by unsupervised kids turning jets on and off and jumping in. It made it difficult for adults to enjoy. Food and drinks are technically not allowed in the pool area, although that rule wasnât enforced during our visitâeven with staff present.
đ Entry was easy with a secure door code, and parking was generally fine, though some spaces were tight due to misparked vehicles (not the propertyâs fault). The roads leading up to the location are steep and winding, but manageable with careful driving. đż The private patio was perfect for unwinding in nature and soaking in the panoramic views. The property is conveniently located near downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, making it ideal for exploring.
We weren't able to use the added coupons with the BOGO due to some didn't allow that (Aquarium for instance) and some of the others we wanted to buy were only available for BOGO on a Adult & childs ticket not 2 adults, which was dissapointing for sure. It was the 2 of us so it didn't work out. When these incentives are being offered it should work for all of the listed ones no matter who is purchasing what ticket. This was only a small hiccup.
We would definitely return if weâre back...
Read moreMy family and I recently stayed at Highlands. It is a beautiful and modern condo complex that was built recently after the prior place was lost to the fires a few years ago. The property is really nice, with sleek dĂ©cor and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and everything feels fresh and new. The condo was clean, the showers are nice and provide a really nice hot shower, the kitchen was nice with new appliances, the laundry machines are full sized, and the fireplace in the living room provided some much needed heat during the cold. The location is great â itâs about 10 minutes from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains National Park. There is no grill and the only hot tub is outdoors by the pool, so the units donât each have their own. They provide starter essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dish detergent, but be prepared to purchase extras if you might need them. We also purchased pump hand soap because they provided bar soap, but no soap dishes. It's a small detail, but having to place wet soap directly on the counter was less than ideal for a place of this price and caliber. They also only provided one luggage rack for the entire two-bedroom condo which was a miss. We were pulling things from other rooms to put our luggage on and thatâs not ideal.
The main issue we had was that they are building a 2nd building right outside of where our room was located. Construction began early every morningâbefore sunriseâand continued all day until 5. We mentioned that this was a problem while on vacation to the team working and we were told that itâs just the way it is. No one reached out to us to discuss it and that was very disappointing. The noise disrupted our sleep and made it hard to relax. As you can imagine, that was a significant detractor from an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Overall, the Highlands has a lot of potential, and I think these issues are likely temporary growing pains. Once the construction wraps up and the smaller details are addressed, this place could easily become a top choice...
