Capitol Theatre — Local services in Gilead Township

The family that owns this place is wonderful. They really are trying to bring movies as soon as their out at an affordable price. The screen works and the sound is great. They've removed almost all of the smelly bits from years of water damage and neglect. They do not have unlimited capital with which to finish everything that's visible. Unfortunately many of your co-movie goers leave a lot to be desired. Not unusual to have kids running up and down the aisles or be sitting to close to heavy smokers who reek. The cutest small town local movie theater. They often have great new releases at very affordable prices. You can even order tickets online ahead of time which was convenient. The snack bar is small, but offers all the usual treats. I liked that they offer different “combo deals” for drinks, popcorn & candy. The theater was pretty nice. My only complaint is the sound. I love this theater. I’ve been coming here for over 40 years. Several owners. Always dear to my heart. Close to home. Small business. Recently remodeled looks great and the staff is so friendly!! Great prices for tickets and snacks. Very affordable for families in this economy. I grew up coming here in the 80s, saw ET, Top Gun, Ghostbusters to name a few.
