On 12/15 I had a large carry out order, they forgot my quesadilla and my fajitas were missing the shrimp. I called when this was realized at home and spoke with Makenzie, she said next time we come in we would get a quesadilla and fajitas for free. I came back tonight and the waiter said he remembered the credit for our food, when we went to check out the manager said he would only credit $4. I asked the waiter the managers name ( he never came and spoke to us personally). The waiter said he would have to ask if it was ok to give the name. I asked another waitress what the managers name was and she said she didn't know. Miguel came out and said he was the manger, he said Makenzie didn't work there any more and that $4 was all he was going to credit our bill. I have to say the food is always good, but the service from Miguel tonight was poor. I am disappointed, we always try to support small businesses, but if they don't honor their word, I have issues. They were the ones that messed up our carry out order and then don't want to honor what they said they would next time we came back. Miguel, you need to work on your customer service. You should have come a spoken to us personally. The waiter even said he saw the credit that was owed to us. If you order carryout, check all your food before leaving...
Read moreOrdered quaso dip and it did not come out until the very end of the meal (after our entrées) and it was cold. At this point we are done eating, so we simply ask for it to be taken off the bill as we did not eat it. The very young waiter says "no, I can heat it up in the microwave." (Again we are done eating and boxing up our food, its pointless now.) We ask to speak with the manager and the waiter says he will address it at the register.
Drinks have not been refilled, empty dishes are still on the table during the entire meal, and he is standing there watching TV at the bar instead doing of his job.
We walk up to the register (the manager did not meet us there) and proceed to politely ask the cashier again to have the quaso dip taken off the bill. We are told "no, the waiter offered to heat it up in the microwave for you." I ask him if a happy customer and repeat business is worth more than quaso dip. We are told "there are a lot of people and we don't need your business."
So we will never be returning. We have come here since it has opened and have recommended it to many people. Now due to two young egotistical employees at night, we will...
Read moreLa Cababita is local Mexican food and a place I hold dear due to my almost weekly lunches with my son, Dane. It's usual jumping but always room for more. Ceasar and Miguel (sp) are the two men I most often talk with and they are always friendly and willing to help. I usually get Tomales with some guacamole and sour cream. Tomales are a hard find anywhere. If you're not familiar, I'll do my best. It's either ground or shredded beef or whatever wrapped in a cornmeal/cornbread type thingy. Thicker than a taco shell or wrap by a lit. Theycare huge as are most servings at the La Cabanita. The texture is half the draw. Taste a bit like warm cornbread with a stuffing of ground protein 😋. Easily 8 inches long and stuffed full. Difficult to finish but ... If your not sold on the Mexican thingy, try the sauteed ahrimp. I believe it's pan prepared in some spices and browned without drying it out. So good. Not sure of the spices but very inviting. Ask for the shrimp aline or get the whole meal. Prices are insanely low if you consider taste and portion size. Tell 'em "that one guy" sent you and get a free meal when you pay for one at double the price...
