Fidelina's — Local services in Gilroy

No disrespect intended, but she is the worst alteration services I have ever used. I was trying Fidelina because I had heard my MIL mention her a few years ago and since we moved to Morgan Hill from San Jose, I thought she would be more reasonably priced being Gilroy. Was she changed my mind completely about taking a risk with trying new businesses out. She over-shortened my daughter’s dress for a celebration of life. It was meant to be floor-lengthened. However, Fidelina chopped it up to a mid-calf dress length. It was so obvious that it was a mistake. And when I addressed the over-shortening issue with her, she minimized the complaint. She said oh well, “she’s only going to wearing it once anyway.” The first issue is it was a $60 dress. But she charged me $80 for the alteration. The worse thing was the insulting way she spoke to me and the lack of remorse and care that this celebration was so important to my daughter. She knew how meaningful this celebration was to our family because I have been fighting terminal cancer and how much it meant to help my 7year daughter to feel like the amazing daughter she has been the last 5 years during my cancer battle. But Fidelina made her feel self conscious all night at the party. My best advice to all out there, PLEASE do NOT trust this woman’s (lack of) skills or unprofessional attitude to anything important that means a lot to you!😡 we had to buy and overnight new shoes so we could the lengthen the dress closer down...

I highly recommend Fidelina for any of your alternation needs. I came to her in February to get my wedding dress hemmed, taken in on the sides, reduce the bust size, add a bustle, and make off the shoulder sleeves. My wedding was in July and it turned out perfect! My dress was originally a size 12 and I’m a size 4/6 so it had to be taken in A LOT. The dress was also too long, I was worried about getting it hemmed because of the lace that ran along the bottom of the dress. She carefully took off all that lace, hemmed it, then sewed the lace back on. She also made my off the shoulder straps using the excess fabric. Her prices were very reasonable and cheaper than having my dress altered by the company. I also think they wouldn’t have done such an amazing job as she did.

The dress fit so perfectly that I was able to dance all night long without having to pull my dress up even once. Fidelina is an amazing seamstress and I will be definitely going...

Fidelina and Liz provide quality work in the most efficient time. Their craft is sought after by moms and dads from all over South County for weddings, proms, Sade Hawkins, Quinceaneras, Baptisms, suits, dresses and for any work that requires delicate/precisee seamstress attention to detail.

My suits from Saks Fifth Avenue, Brooks Brother and Nordstrom are expensive so I naturually want a careful hand to touch the excellent wool quality.

Liz and Fidelina know the dates of the important school events such as Prom and work overtime to get everyone's job done right because they understand the importance of a young man or young woman showing up dapper and gorgeous.
