Gilroy Library — Attraction in Gilroy

The library is big and fairly well-equipped. It's clean, orderly, and it seems to use its spaces smartly.

I'm sure they have their reasons, but opening a huge library at 1pm 4 days a week is kind of shameful. And it might've been a mistake to combine the outside seating with the children's play area. They gave the kids some really noisy materials to play with. Maybe there was nowhere else for the playground. But they slam the materials around and it sounds like industrial work. Oh well, not the worst thing.

They designed the internet in a way that screws everyone on the perimeter. They probably don't want homeless people using their internet outside, so they restricted the signal to the point where it doesn't even reach the patrons. If you don't want to sit inside and catch COVID over and over, you don't get to use the internet. Massive mistake.

There's a lot to like about any library- especially one as large as this- but they failed at some basic things.

edit: No issues with the people who work there. The staff seems great, although I don't really have reasons to interact with them. Libraries are wonderful things to cherish and this one is no exception. In a sense they're all 4-5 star offerings. I'm moving the score up to 4 stars because it really is a nice, large, well-equipped place. And the fact that there's a playground for kids at all is actually a very nice touch and they should be commended for that. I'm a tough grader for places that are very good but...

Quite difficult to play Minecraft. But overall very nice and safe. I totally recommend going there. Very cool inside, very nice employees, the security guard is wonderful! Very clean. I've never had a problem with this library. I love it there, They have very fun people that go there such as The Bubble Lady, Roy The Reptile Guy. It's so amazing. They even have days where you can go read to a dog! It's AMAZING! There vending machine is almost always full with healthy and unhealthy treats. Overall the library is very neat, clean, and super fun Everytime I take my children, however I feel like certain staff members are some what rude I feel as if if your going to have restrictments for all kids to not run through aisles it should be a approach to every child one of the lady's tried telling my 3yr old autistic child to not do this not do that till I told her keep that role for every child and not pin point one child over the other especially not knowing...
