My children received gift cards for target from their grandmother who lives in another state. The gift cards were purchased through paypal gift cards. The first time we went to store my son tried to use his. The cashier told us we couldnt use it because there isn't a barcode showing. I told her a barcode doesnt show up on the email at all however it clearly shows the gift card number and the pin/access code. She repeated she couldnt use it. As we were walking away to find a manager she then says well let me try to enter it manually ( why wasnt this done from the beginning) she chose the button that says gift card enter manually, entered the info and the transaction went through. That was last week. Today my daughter went in to make a purchase, I told her beforehand to make sure they know to enter the information under gift cards enter manually. Instead I get a calling telling me that she cant use it, they are saying there isnt an access code showing. I go in the store to find that they told my daughter to go to the target app and enter the gift card number to see if it actually works. She enters it ,it works. We go back to the register and i ask why couldnt she use it from the beginning. Im told that "it didnt show all the numbers we needed and it told us it was invalid", really because it the same numbers she entered in the app and it showed the balance and all info with no problem. I asked my daughter if the person who entered the numbers tried more than once to make sure she didnt enter a number incorrectly. SHE DID NOT. My daughter then told me the older gentleman in electronics got an attitude with her, telling her the gift card isnt valid because it doesnt have a barcode so she just had to go to the front. FyI target the same numbers that would come up if a barcode was available, which it isnt, is the same numbers listed as gift card numbers. Train your people to actually look at what their customers bring, try more than once in case you make a numerical mistake and dont think you can talk to teens any type of way just because you only see the teenager there and assume the parent isnt close. Read moreAfter realizing I forgot to use a coupon I went to customer service to return Pampers that cost $8 and rebuy at the discounted price. Instead of just returning my one item, the cashier voided my entire purchase of $127 and then discounted the Pampers which then totaled $124. I was angry because two cashiers were telling me that I was credited on my card and I told them that's not what I wanted and that's not how credit cards work. I told them debits are real time and credits take several business days to process. So while I'm waiting for a $127 credit, my card now had a hold on double the amount. While I had enough on my card, it made me angry as it could've very well had been an even larger purchase causing me even more grief. Or what could've happened was me barely having any money on my card my card could've been declined. Who knows if the money will be refunded before Christmas!? This left me very angry but it was either pay again or leave my items in the store, so I paid AGAIN for my purchase. I have a very short temper and was very close to dumping the bags out over the floor and storming out. If you're going to work in customer service you should know what you're doing! then I realized there was another item in stock according to the website but not on the floor. ended up running into Jessica a second time and with a smile on her face she was happy to go look for it in the back, and came back with it still in it's wrapping!!
because of her tenacity and drive i was able to get 2 pokemon pillow buddies. It made me want to get more so i went out the next day to another location and got two more to complete the collection for a gift set this year.
I'm not sure her role, but of the 4 people i spoke with she was the most helpful and did it with a smile the whole time. She's a true asset...
