Hunan Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

We waited too late to get into Peking on Christmas night. I googled Chinese food near me and Hunan Cafe came up. It's in a strip mall on Staples Mill Rd. We walked in and there were just a few people eating inside. 1/2 of the restaurant was packed up, not sure why! I used the restroom and it was very clean! The food came and it was really tasty! Everything was served on disposable plates and bowls with plastic utensils. Not sure if that's normal or just on Christmas ! We had Won Ton soup that was really flavorful followed by fried dumplings and egg rolls. All delicious! Our main dish was Sesame chicken with rice. It was delicious! There was broccoli with it. The sauce was so good! We definitely had enough to bring home for lunch tomorrow! A nice little spot for good...

No offense to the owners or cooks, but I got the pepper steak and it was pretty terrible. The price was good because of the lunch special, but that was where the good ended. I work in the food industry so I'm pretty critical in my rating. The rice was terrible and tasted really old and microwaved and so did the sauce they used. The "steak" or what ever it may or may not have been was okay; but I didn't taste any pepper in the pepper steak. It seems that they cop'd out of the original recipe and just doused it in some salty sauce-- it was far too wet. Maybe this was a variation in the recipe but it wasn't a good one in my opinion. Never will I go there again! Mr. Wong 2 from now on 8715 Shrader Rd, Henrico, VA 23228 for those who are unsatisfied with this place. Usually I have no problems but today I was extremely disappointed! I called my order in at about 1115. I got there at about 1130 on my 30 min. lunch break and still had to wait for "my order". I paid, I even tipped! Just to find out the guy on the phone didn't NOT place my order correctly. My order was COMPLETELY wrong as if i had not call in advance. I have been eating there for years. Never again. Not because they wasted my time and my lunch break but because they never apologized for the inconvenience nor did they offered any compensation for...
