Panda Express — Restaurant in Virginia

I resisted going to Panda Express for the longest time. THEN my son offered to buy me a meal. We have gone to 3 different area Panda Express Restaurants. This one, on Staples Mill Rd, has my business. Not that the other ones aren't good but we had difficulty at one in particular. The one on Parham, by McDonald's and Aldi, is open until 10 pm. Imo, if you're open then you should have food available. We went one night at 8:00 pm with an awful craving for their sweet fire chicken. They were out and we were told they would not make any more. Well, I'm sorry but 2 hours before you are scheduled to close and you run out of a popular food item, you should make more. So, they lost 3 customers. We made our way to the restaurant on Staples Mill. My son had called ahead to make sure they had enough. When we got there, the staff knew who we were and apologized profusely for the other restaurant. The manager told us at that location that if they run out of a food item, they make more regardless of time. Tonight I also patronized this restaurant location (Staples Mill). They were out of sweet fire chicken (yep imo it's THAT good). The manager apologized over and over and said if I could wait, it would only be about 5 minutes. Of course I didn't mind. But he didn't stop there. He gave me a free drink and ushered me to a table, (I'm on crutches at the present due to surgery), asking if there was anything else I needed. I asked if it was possible to give me an extra fortune cookie because my little rescue dog loves them. When i got home, in the bag were 6 fortune cookies. THAT is how you do customer service!!! This location, though it's not the closest, will definitely get all my business!! Don't hesitate to go and try the orange chicken plus the sweet...

Staff tried to overcharge (didn't know how to enter the correct coupon), so the manager was called - who then basically did the same thing and put it back on me, as if "do you want your food, or not?"

First by $8, then $4, and finally she told me it was my issue. I pushed back and told her just because their purchase system didn't work properly, was her issue, not mine. In a snit, she turned her back on me - informing me that the last (3rd try) discount she applied was better than the correct amount. Except it wasn't. As I sat there eating ok Chinese-buffet dishes, I did the math. It was still high by a couple of bucks, which to be honest was the far lesser offense than their being rude and disinterested.

I contacted corporate and surprisingly they took her side, even though they did not contest that wrong prices were thrown at me in hopes I would bite.

The company and its reps have a hard time with basic math. And this is exactly why entitled 'w0keness' will ruin what is left of the free market. Thankfully that day is not here yet, and I will vote with my feet.

Never again, Panda Express. Not here, not anywhere. Too many good local places with helpful families instead of franchises that overcharge for rice and throw in some...

This is definitely the worst Panda Express I have ever stepped foot into. This location is continuously out of menu items hours before they close. Tonight we arrived at 9pm as the general manager told my wife they stop cooking at 930pm. The line food server Veronica is nasty and has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. She continued to belittle my wife every time she asked a question. Veronica refused to have any more food prepared although 70% of the trays were empty. Veronica told my wife "we open at 11am" to suggest she should just leave. Based on Veronica's attitude & in-stocks my wife decided not to get her meal. Veronica snatched my meal out of the bag shoved my tray at me & proceeded to dump my wife's meal back into the different trays for sale. We will never go back to that location. We decided to give this location another try after my wife talked to the general manager but we should have known something was off when Veronica wasn't taking customers in order because they were frustrated trying to figure out what they were going to order with the few choices available. This used to be a good location the new general manager said he's trying to turn it around but Veronica definitely isn't...
