ALDI — Local services in Glen Carbon

I wish I could rate a particular employee instead of Aldi as a whole. I would have given zero stars if I could. I have never been treated so rude in my life. My mom suggested I try Aldi out and gave me a couple bags. Knowing nothing about the quarter for a cart deal I took my bags in, filled them up and went to check out. The lady very snippy said take your stuff out of your bags. I said okay and started unloading. She then started literally throwing my items in my cart. I was trying to pack my bags but then almost was hit by a couple items so I stopped packing. As soon as she was finished I hurried and started packing. Very angrily she said ma’am how are you paying today you are holding up my line. I said well if you would t have thrown everything next to my bag I would be paying by now. It was so embarrassing. She said well that is not how we do it here. I looked at the guy behind me and his mouth dropped. I said well it would have been nice if you would have explained that to me instead of being passive aggressive and mean. She said next time you come bring a quarter. I said oh I won’t be back. I could not believe how rude she was. I believe everyone has bad days but this lady has no right having a customer service position. Never again will go...

I only leave a star off because deals run out fast here sometimes and you are left with either lackluster beef or random beef.

Egg and milk prices are the best around, with eggs under a $1. Skim milk has changed and something is wrong with it. Multiple people have told me about that, 2% and whole are fine.

Their cereal isn't that great, but their other food options are comparable to name brand stores, but without the big expense.

They have a growing gluten free section and reasonable prices there, which is usually a thing other places take advantage of.

Checkout can be variable as well and they do earnestly try their best to get you through quickly or add cashiers if lines get really out of control.

Horrible experience with our cashier. She said “I’m closing” when we were the only ones left at her register and made us feel so embarrassed and uncomfortable. because she knew my friend tested positive for COVID-19 I have not been around that friend in over ten days. Also, I was tested.. Another customer heard her from across the other isle and said, “please come in front of me don’t let her treat you like that.” She has blonde hair and glasses.
