I did not know banking could be this bad. Customer service is horrible that it may as well be nonexistent. I have excellent credit and just got approved for a mortgage with another bank, and I was only applying for a checking account with them. I have never been denied a bank account in my life, yet somehow they denied me. I applied online and the person I was communicating with through their messaging portal asked me for additional information, which I provided. Then I heard nothing from them for about 9 days, so I logged back into the portal where I was communicating with the person (no name ever provided) and saw that I was denied. I was denied without any further communication. I sent another message in the portal inquiring about my application. They did not respond. I then reached out to customer service. They stated that they could not assist in the matter. They called another department and could not get a hold of anyone. They then offered to transfer me so I could leave a message. She stated Susan Long was the Relationship Manager. I I left a message and never heard from anyone. A week or more later, I got a letter in the mail. I was denied do to "unable to verify residence", though I provided my lease. I was also denied for "unable to verify identity" even though I provided my ID, social, date of birth. I was also denied for "Other, specify: required funds to open account not received." When exactly was I supposed to pay this? Usually you have to be approved for a bank account first then provide the $10 bucks or so to establish your account. The final reason was based on information obtained from a consumer credit agency. I know my credit is excellent so I have no idea what they are talking about. About four months ago before all of this, I was in contact with a Delivery Service Representative because I had inquired about an account. I decided to reach out to him. On 9/27 he said he escalated it to the lady who handled my application. 10/3 I emailed him again letting him know that no one reached out to me, and I requested a supervisor or anyone else that could help. I moved my banking to this institution because I'm a christian and I wanted to support "Christian banking" but it has been a difficult transition and one I have now come to regret, for example, I called to make a payment to my mortgage company, something as simple as sending an electronic check, for verification she asked for my DOB, mothers maiden name, phone number, home address, account number, previous school I attended and the amount of the last transaction on the account?!? After that, I explained to her what I was wanting to do and she said that her department did not handle that and someone would call me back to set it up... I thought that was odd but waited 2 hours for a call back to setup an e-check, after another long verification, I was then told that her department only processed payments for their mortgage loans...wait...you can't even call member services to make a direct payment to your own loan?? She also said they could not make payments to 3rd party services...as a bank?!? This is just one of many occurrences that has happened, I was also supposed to have received money for opening an account with a certain amount and type of account and I never received any credit and when I asked about it they said I didn't meet the criteria? however, after reviewing the criteria on the website, the deposit amount required and type of account opened, there was no reason I should not have received the promotional credit. And they've done it to me after being a GREAT customer for 7 years. Paid off MULTIPLE vehicle loans, never missed a payment. Two credit cards with them that I never missed a payment on! So after all that time with an immaculate payment history, savings, checking, the works; the minute I missed ONE credit card payment and called in immediately to ask for options, they CLOSED BOTH cards without even telling me! A pitiful excuse for an employee whose name is LUCINDA was the one who did it! I got a call from her superior a few days later apologizing to me because she shouldn't have done it, and the info was SUPPOSED to be disclosed to me. (I found out by a letter in the mail) This LUCINDA, whoever she is, should be FIRED! She's a disgrace to this credit union and a disgrace to anything with the label 'Christian' on it. Please heed this warning and the fact that they barely have 3 stars in their Google reviews, and RUN from this place! You will be glad you did.
