Thank goodness for Susan Helmich who has been my only jeweler for several years now. When I found her, I had pretty much given up hope of ever being able to wear a pair of earrings I'd paid dearly for 15 years earlier. Because of their weight, my pierced-post earrings would bend my earlobes backward and, well, my gorgeous earrings just looked stupid on my ears. I took them to other independent fine jewelers in Old Colorado City, on Powers, on Academy, on N. Nevada and, in Monument. All of them "kind of, sort of" knew what the problem was and had ideas on what might work: repositioning the posts or putting them on wires. And none were confident enough for me to feel ok about spending my coin with them. Then I found Susan Helmich. She studied the problem by looking at the earrings in my ears, putting them in her own ears, and sketching a few designs before deciding we needed to add a "support" bar on the back of each earring. Voila! I am finally, happily wearing those expensive earrings. Since then I've been back to Susan for other repairs. She and her Helmich staff are friendly, customer-oriented, and a joy...

In the Spring of '12 we had Susan Helmich design a custom wedding ring for us. Susan and her team were easy to work with and very accomodating when working with our schedule setting up meetings to go over the work. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the creative process of coming up with the design with her.

The resulting Ring is a custom piece we treasure. My wife get complements on it all day long and it is an heirloom we'll be able to pass down.

I had a prong bent on my wedding ring. I did a quick search of a repair place close to me, Susan Helmich Fine Jewelry came up. Without hesitation I ran right over and knocked on her door. Not realizing she works in appointments she was gracious enough to help me on the spot. Susan is a neat lady and I really enjoyed visiting with her. She was able to clean my ring and fix the prong in less than 15 min and I was on my way. I will be setting up an appointment to come back with my grandmothers necklace to repurpose into other pieces for me....
