Moved to Glenn Dale 25 years ago and made this my go to store… The managers, in my opinion, never demonstrated much customer interaction and always seem bothered when I needed their help, but each and every cashier was friendly and helpful… The store was clean inside, and outside the parking lot was clean and felt safe… But things have changed over the last 3 yrs… I went there yesterday but happened to be taking a phone call so I sat in the car for 15 minutes… While in the car I saw grocery carts littered all across the parking lot… The attendant finally came out to grab the carts and only grabbed 3 of the many that were scattered… Additionally, of the 3 he grabbed, he then decided to leave one of them exactly in the middle of the driving lane… I got out of my car to move it so cars could get by… Several cars sped through and across the parking lot and there were people loitering in the parking lot as well… Based on the trends I’ve seen over the years and what I saw yesterday in 15 minutes, I’ve decided that Giant and it’s mgmt need to do more and offer the community the shopping experience, both inside and outside, it deserves… Until it does, Fairwood Safeway will be getting all of my business.

Read moreWork about 5 mins or less away from this giant so alot of times after work this is my stop if i need anything before heading home. needless to say i went to purchase some things on 5/25 (checked my receipt). i drink alot of coffee and put whip cream from time to time. i love the farmland whip cream and bought 2 bottles cause it was buy one get one. i just recently finished 1 of the bottles and moved to the second bottle today. Put the whip cream on top of my coffee go to taste it and it TASTES SPOILED. Not only that but after tasting upon thorough inspection it SMELLS SPOILED. I didnt pay attention before tasting because who thinks something they just bought would be like that.i go to look at the expiration date on the can after checking my purchase date because im thinking it cant be spoiled this fast seeing as how i just bought it within the last week and it wasnt opened until today and the expiration date is 4/21…so it expired a month ago!!!. Tried my best to rinse my mouth out with water afterwards however i just recovered from food poisoning in march and it was a horrible experience so i really hope this doesnt make me...
Read moreThe ground level customer service is pretty good. Most of the cashiers and people walking the aisles are friendly and helpful. The upper management also seems to be pretty friendly in the interactions I've had with them. The people that I think of as "middle management", who are always on the floor or at the customer service desk, are the absolute worst. I assume that they are middle management because they are the ones that get called when there's a problem at the register, typically, but they dress just like the cashiers.
Their attitudes are terrible, they talk trash about customers in front of other customers and act like every little request is an imposition. Ask them to help with the self checkout machine and it's like you're a bloody idiot. They act like you're asking to borrow money to get a raincheck. I avoid them at all costs, and it's a shame in an otherwise good...
