My big take away from this retro game store is that it is relaxing. With chill game music playing and no loud television ads playing like other related store. The owner knows a lot about the games he sells and is honest with the info. They recently added a small anime section (with a growing used manga section) which is making this store become a one stop shop for my nerdy needs with retro toys, comics, and of course the retro games.
I really appreciate the convience of holds too! They usually hold it up to a day, depending on the rarity of the game. There is a small hang out area in the back with comfy seating and a coffee table to enjoy your time there.
This location also hosts and streams a speedrun event once or twice a year that really helps get other gamers together and have a good time. Really cool to see a location where your locals are beating games in ways you never saw before!
If you are looking for a relaxing, one-stop shop for last gen games/anime/retro toys, Next Level Videogames is a good option to get away and pick up a piece of past generations.
There is a lot of passion that goes into this store and it shows. With an online shop that just recently opened for the store and original products popping up, I believe this is just the start of this small business becoming the next hot spot for gamers in South Jersey.
Please consider visiting and seeing it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwesome store! Good prices! Some talk about there being a small collection here, but donāt let that fool you. I travel a long drive from two states away, to shop here and itās well worth it. There are some very good finds here. Good selection of stuff thatās actually good stuff and sometimes rarer stuff. And I wouldnāt say itās a small selection. Iāve seen smaller game stores with less stuff. Iād say itās more of a medium sized game store, I guess.
Update: Iām taking off 1 star for the store being closed on Sunday. I have to travel very far to go to this place. I come all the way down here and itās closed. And they still take two other days a week off as well so they donāt need to close on Sunday other games stores that take two other days, do it so they can be open on Sunday. For some of us Sunday is the only time we can get down there. I still recommend the store, but Iām pissed off about it being closed on Sunday.
Update again: Okay, I thought it over and put the star back. But this place needs to stop closing on Sunday. Itās one of the few days. I can ever get up here and it bugged me did I come all the way up here and the other game stores are open and this oneās not. I understand him taking off the two days a week if this place is open then. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to this store today due to their anniversary sale. I ended up trading in a couple older and newer games I had lying around. I was surprised at first with the price I received, but after talking with the owner I understood why and honestly it was a fair trade. He was even kind enough to give me some extra cash for them. Real nice dude!
The store itself was about the size of a standard Gamestop. However, the prices were faaar more fair. And they had a great selection of titles to pick from. I'm a big Nintendo fan, so I'm already planning on returning to pick up some DS and Gamecube games!
Also if you're into anime, this place has plenty to pick from. Figures, plushies, gachapon capsules, key chains, magnets and stickers (both being only 99 cents!). The list goes on. I ended up grabbing a couple key chains and a figure during my stop.
Overall I had a great time and I'm definitely excited to shop here again in the near future. If you're ever in the area, you...
