I SOOO much love all the Dakota Boys Ranch stores in North Dakota. I frequent the Fargo ones, but when I travel to Grand Forks, I look forward to a change of scenery. Today I stopped by as it's been a few months. I was SHOCKED at the prices you had on nearly everything. What in the world?!
You had three red Christmas candle holders listed at $29.99 EA! EACH! I looked them up online, and I could have bought them brand new for less than what I would have paid there used. Drinking glasses for $6 a glass in your "non-antique" section. I don't know who is doing your pricing, but you might want to reassess some of this. I overheard a couple of ladies talking about how some things are still sitting on the shelves for months because the cost is too high. You get this stuff for free, and I realize you need to make money for your organization - but going to a thrift store is supposed to be fun and to find a deal vs going to the retail outlets.
It was honestly like shopping at Target/Amazon and if I can get it new for a few bucks more, I probably will go that route. Your prices are literally competing with new retail or a high-end antique shop where the environment/service is geared toward spending a bit more. The Goodwill Store is beating your prices considerably - which is frankly shocking because you all seem to have had the thrift game down and were superior in price point. Just had to share. I'll stop in again sometime, but if things are that inflated, it might be...
Read moreThis might be one of the worst customer service experiences of my entire life. This is so far beyond bad customer service this is borderline verbal assault. This should be no stars but google will not let it go lower than 1. I was yelled at, spoken down too and treated with gross disdain and contempt. Why a business trying to support a good cause would have such nasty hateful people working the counter is beyond me. I can assure you anything this place seems like it has is not worth dealing with the counter staff. If you are in line and see an older native american man with a quasi-mohawk. Just put your items down and walk out that is the best advice I can offer to salvage your day, whatever it is you think you have found is not worth the brutal maltreatment you are in for. I went to the store specifically to buy furniture. My wife and I (yes she got her earful of maltreatment as well) brought a long box truck and believed we were ready. The man was the type to ask vague questions and be utterly annoyed and hateful if you do not have a prompt and perfect response. I am brand new to North Dakota but I have to assume the Boys and Girls Ranch deserves better than that hateful bitter man you will have to deal with to...
Read moreOne of the employees here is rude beyond words! I purchased three items (two were the same price). I paid and left the store but realized I was overcharged when I looked at the items when I got to my car. I went right back in the store and explained that she overcharged me by ringing up 2 items at the higher price instead of 2 items at the lower price as it should have been. No more than 2 minutes had gone by since the transaction and there was no one behind me when I paid so I don't believe she "helped" anyone after me. It was like she had no idea who in the world I was! Then she removed my items from the bag and said "well where are the rest of the items?!?!" as if I was being dishonest. She begrudgingly gave me the money I was overcharged but not before making me out to be a thief when it was...
