FAMILIES NOT WELCOME HERE!! I had the worst experience here by far. After being startled by my five year old son when she turned around to see him there, a cranky old woman working there repeatedly ask us to "take his hand because this was not a playground"... Again, he was just standing there. I know that some 5 year olds can be a little rambunctious, mine however is fairly well behaved. So as she told us to leave the store (which we happily started too) she also threatened to call the police on my 5 year old son. Imagine the terror when he thought the police were going to come get him. You'd think she would be a little more focused on customer service, working in an overpriced store selling items you can find in other places in town for less and from nicer owners. Surprising that this place has been open for so long being...
Read moreWhile visiting friends in Grand Lake, we purchased a piece of wall art with silk flowers from Humphreys.. The sales clerk specifically told us the flowers were included when we bought it. My husband was taking it to the car when the owner Jenny chased him down telling him the flowers were NOT inlcuded. He ended up going back to the store and we removed the flowers. My husband was quite embarrassed by the scene.
My opinion is Jenny should have let it go as her clerk made the mistake. When I told her this she just said the clerk was wrong. I believe the price of doing business is sometimes you need to make a compensation when an error is made in order to show good faith to your customer. She obviously does not...
Read moreThe owners were so nice. My 8 year old son does not know a stranger and can talk to anyone from 2 YO to 90 YO. He asked them to play a song on the stereo system and they did and then talked to my son for several minutes about his favorite country music artist. As we were leaving the gentleman commented that my son was a wonderful young man and gave him a fist bump. We have gone back to Grand Lake twice since then and my son had to go and see Rick both times to say HI. He was greeted both times with a hug and a...
