Point Park — Attraction in Grand Lake

Best place to park to SUP or kayak/canoe ($5 day fee when the machine is working) is Hilltop, just off Jerico on Shadow Mountain Lake. No motor boats in this tranquil inlet and you have perfect access to Shadow Mountain Lake or Grand Lake via the canal under Rainbow Bridge.

Winds can kick up around 10a so get out there by 8:30. Lots of wildlife to spy and the fishing can be great in certain spots. Water is cold but refreshing so come prepared!

This is a hidden gem in the town of Grand Lake. This public park has paved trails, waterfront on Grand Lake and the canal between Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. It has a public dock over the water that can be reserved and rented from the Town for special events like weddings. It has several covered picnic tables and benches for sitting. This is a great location to shore fish. This is also an excellent place to see wildlife as over the years I have seen bears, moose, fox, ospreys, and eagles here. The parking lot is small. Grand Lake will always be my “happy place “. I have been to all the places available for room rental! Amazing people and they may take my money anytime! I have never not caught a fish, and once on the East inlet I caught 32 fish. Many too small but then, I had plenty for the freezer not to mention dinner!
