Bagel Kitchen Westside — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

It is Sunday and typically I see a lot of people out at coffee shops. I was excited to see that this place was opening in the neighborhood and thought I'd give it a try. It took me awhile to find a seat with an electrical outlet for me to plug my computer in. Took me longer to get on the wifi signal because it isn't posted anywhere in the shop and the pw is not user friendly for guests. I finally get my order and my coffee to find the bagel a little dry. The coffee was good. Soon after, the worker announces the shop is closing in 2 minutes! So after spending $15 dollars, getting situated at a seat, I found that I had to leave and go to another shop to do what I intended on my computer today. BAGEL KITCHEN CLOSES AT 1 PM!!!! Therefore, for a Bagel/Coffee shop with limited hours, and not the best service/food compared to so many around the area, I just don't see myself ever returning. Bagel Kitchen is a consistently outstanding spot—hands down serving some of the best bagels I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot, having tried bagels all across New York. Honestly, I prefer these. The texture, flavor, and freshness are just spot-on.

The coffee is equally impressive. Their café miel, in particular, might be the best I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced and just the right touch of sweetness.

Like most places I end up visiting, I have driven past the Bagel Kitchen on Leonard frequently and finally made the decision to grab a bagel sandwich for breakfast. What an experience!

I got the Bellclaire sandwich, except on a Rosemary Salt bagel and added bacon. I will tell you, the flavor just hit on every level. Flakey salt, aromatic rosemary, smooth cream cheese and savory bacon and egg? Absolute party in my mouth. The bagel was also the perfect texture/chewiness.

I swear I heard angels singing as I ate this bagel.
