A family member from the area brought us here in 2017 for beer flights and pizza while we were on vacation. My husband and I have fantasized about the pizza flight we had that night ever since. It’s the holy grail of pizza experiences.

We came back in town this summer for a wedding and it happened to be my birthday. I had such a great experience the last time I wanted to come back to celebrate.

I texted my brother (he came with us last time and also still raves about it). He replied back that he has serious FOMO since he’s not here with us this time.

You know when you think about something for so long that you oversell it? This was absolutely as good as we’d remembered—maybe better.

Pizza was perfectly cooked. My favorite now (and back then) was the Mac Daddy. Close second was Curse of the Goat. My husband said his “favorite pizza of all time” was the Westerdog.

Service was impeccable. Pizza was incredible. I had the raspberry cider and my daughter had the non-alcoholic white peach. Both were great. Loved the crispy pizza knots.

Here’s to another who-knows-how-many years of dreaming about how good the pizza flight was at The Mitten. Makes me wish I lived here. This time we bought merch to commemorate the occasion. Solid birthday lunch. I’ll be talking about this for a long time. Do yourself a...

Edit Chris was at the host desk when I returned the day after (today) to pickup a carryout pizza order to take back home to the East side of the state. He directly and promptly addressed my complaint with the most gracious of ways. I could not be happier, and in no way was my experience last night a normal one, it was an isolated incident. It was a one-off day and will be corrected, as I was assured. I had a response within an hour of my review, and it was fully rectified. The Mitten IS a great establishment with phenomenal dishes (especially pizzas, and a menu with PLENTY of options!) Thank you both for listening, compensating and understanding my concern. I am overly pleased and humbled by your responses and actions. THANK YOU.

Huge wait on a Tuesday. The pizza was amazing, but Roz was our waitress who was terrible. We saw her once to take our order and to bring the bill. The young man at the host desk checked on us and was so polite and personable. Everywhere we went afterward (Vivant, Longroad and Eastern Kille )had amazing bartenders and staff that actually were engaging, fun, helpful and bright. Maybe just a bad day for her, but man, what a disappointment. We would have stayed longer, given how long we waited for a table for 2 but not with that bad attitude and...

Extremely let down by the service. I ordered a pizza and it turned out to be unexpectedly spicy. It was very clear that I wasn't happy with the outcome, and the waitress did not care to try and make my experience better. When I mentioned the pizza was too spicy for me, I received a response of "oh, okay." When I asked to get a new pizza to go since I was still very hungry and had a stomach from the spice, the waitress responded with "sure." I have been a waitress before and making recommendations and coming up with solutions is part of being a waitress and ensuring a positive customer experience. Also, I waitressed at a pizzeria and we did not charge for pizzas that did not meet the customers needs and wants. Feeling very angry I left paying for 2 pizzas when I could only eat one. If your looking for a fantastic pizza place, I would highly recommend Brick Road Pizza. They offer great vegan options and have a wonderful staff.... just tried the second pizza I ordered and I think it's important to note that it was nothing special...I have had much better Margarita pizzas. I could have replicated the pizza in a toaster oven because it lacked so much flavor. This place was honestly a waste of time and money. Very disappointed considering it's...

I hardly write reviews for take out orders. Food always loses quality when packaged up and delivered. However, I thought it would be good to give a heads up on ordering from The Mitten for a delivery; not worth it. The pizza has that type of cheese that likes to mold into one whole piece. By the time I got my pizza (delivery didn't take long) I couldn't pick up a single slice without the cheese refusing to become unglued from the rest and all the toppings slid right off. That was the result for every slice. (As evidenced in my photo.) The bottom of the pizza was quite thin and soggy, so when I gathered the cheese and toppings to put back on my slice, they all slid off again every time I lifted it to my mouth. First world problems, I know, I'm the worst. I also tried their Cajun Chicken WIngs. They were quite bland and a litte dry. The sweet habanero sauce was strange, and not in a good way. I've dined in here once a while back, when they first opened. At the time, I thought the pizza was fantastic. The flavors of the one I had tonight were good. Some bites were saltier than others, and the crust is quite chewy. I would say to just avoid delivery or take out.

This place was pretty good. The beer was good of course and the food was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was pretty neat as well. I forgot what kind of beer that each of us ordered but it definitely hit the spot. As for food, we ordered the cheese bread and pizza. As before mentioned, it tasted very fresh and homemade. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into their quality control. Everything was hot and flavorful when it came out. The cheese on the bread almost snapped in your mouth when you bit into it. The atmosphere was very chill as well. Inside, there is Detroit sports memorabilia on the walls and various beer items. We sat outside where there was music and corn hole. I found the landscaping to be pretty nice also. The service was friendly but our waitress was not that attentive. That was probably the only negative part of my visit. Overall, good food and good vibes. And of course, good beer!
