My experience was QUITE different than the others. I ordered my furniture on Memorial Day, and here we are, after Labor Day, and my order is STILL incomplete. Yes, their prices are low, but it comes with a different price--your time and the quality of furniture being delivered. We ordered a sofa, love seat, and 2 different dining sets. When I called the store at the end of the timeline that they gave me to see when the furniture would be available, they said that the two dining sets were in, but the sofa and love seat were not. They offered to deliver the pieces that they had at no extra cost. Nice. So I said ok, and waited out the 3 hour delivery window. They showed up 2 minutes before the end of the window. They began putting together the dining sets. As they were putting together the kitchen set, they realized that the leaf was broken and 2 of the legs were badly scuffed. They said no problem, we will have our furniture repair guys come fix it. Annoying. Now I knew I was going to have to wait out ANOTHER window. An hour later, they were STILL at my house trying to put together the other table, when they realized that the base that it was supposed to sit on was never ordered. So they packed that table up and brought it back to the store and said they would call when the base arrived. The furniture repair place called and gave me a FOUR hour delivery window. Ok, so I had to wait that out. They came and repaired the leaf, but said that they couldn't repair the scuffed legs, so those needed to be ordered also. Argh. More time wasted. Eventually, the store called back and was going to deliver my dining set that had the missing base and the sofa and love seat. Great. So they delivered that, and as they were delivering that, the delivery driver realized that the dining table top was, in his words, "F-ed up". (He actually used the whole word--while it didn't really offend me, I did think it was unprofessional.) So he said they would order me a new table top and one of the chairs was messed up as well, so they would order me a new one of those. The sofa and love seat didn't have anything wrong with them, however, we did buy them sight unseen. I had specifically told the salesman that I wanted a SMOOTH surface, not one with any pattern or indentations on it. This set was NOT smooth. It's still comfortable, but not what I had wanted at all. That's what you get when you purchase something without seeing it first. Several weeks later, and with NO communication from the store, I called back and asked when the new table top and when the legs for the other table would arrive. They said it should be within the next few weeks. Ugh. They finally called back with a delivery time for the dining room table. This time, it was a 4 hour delivery window. The guys showed up with the new table top and the new legs for the other table. This time, they ordered the WRONG part for the chair that was messed up. There were also what looked like nail holes in the top and some weird scratched up looking indentations on the side. I was told that was the way it was supposed to look. Really? This is my second table top and the first one that was "f-ed up" didn't have those issues. On this table, there were some scuffs on the side that they were going to call the furniture repair people for. Another 4 hour window that I had to wait. I am still waiting for my final chair piece, again, with NO communication from the store. The poor quality of the items being delivered makes me think that the reason that he offers prices that are so much lower than the competition is because they are ordering defective pieces and having the furniture repair guys fix them. Lesson learned: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. What a...
Read moreWe chose to try this store because it had good reviews; however, nothing leaves a bad taste in your mouth like a bitter salesperson. In all fairness we are on a budget right now and did not want to spend more than $1500 on a couch. We were working with a lady named Nancy and found a couch we liked at a great price, but we had suspicion that it was the same couch we had just seen at the store across from our house. (And that it was even cheaper) We didn't know for sure because they were only showing us the couch in a catalog and did not have a floor model.
This is where things went bad. We called the other store to verify the model number and price they had quoted us, largely because we were surprised it was $150 cheaper at My Family Furniture than the store we had previously been to, but in part to make sure we were comparing apples to apples and getting the best deal with our budget.
Upon hanging up the phone Nancy snipped at my wife, "Why don't you just go buy it there then?" Now I get it, it's a sales tactic, a posture statement, a "we don't need your business" move. But it was downright rude and offensive.
My wife responded with, "Why would we do that, you are $150 cheaper." To which Nancy responded, that it was rude of us to call another store in her presence and that we shouldn't be price comparing and shopping around while in her store.
Calling the other store may or may not have been rude; however, this would have been the perfect opportunity for Nancy to explain to us that they are a family owned local business, and that by supporting them instead of another store (which was also a local family owned) we are contributing to (insert something positive here). Instead of having a good attitude and walking us through the process (this being our first time buying furniture that wasn't used online) we would have had a much better experience and Nancy would have had a sale. However, she chose instead to be catty and rude over a simple phone call to verify we were looking at the same model since they only had a picture and not a live model of the couch.
This ended in me telling Nancy that we would just go to the other store and pay the $150 more because we didn't feel like we were treated with compassion or even common courtesy.
If anyone at my family reads this, we just bought our first house and remodeled our basement, there's a reason we were on a budget for the couch, it was just the beginning. We will have to furnish an entire 5 bedroom house over the next year or two, it's not about just a couch, it could have been a great future relationship with repeat business if people had kept their cool and shown compassion for first...
Read moreDO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
My husband and I met Chayanne a year ago when we were looking for an L shape seating. We had been looking at a few stores and were between two stores. Chayanne was very persistent to get our business. She called twice and left messages ensuring us that her company was the way to go. So because I liked her energy and I wanted to support a small business, we went with them. And bought the warranty. We bought the couch Nov 2020.
My husband set up a time for delivery and he took off work to make sure he was home during delivery time. The delivery men came earlier than the time they gave so my husband and I weren't home but my mother in law was. The delivery men insisted that the couldn't put the couch together completely and gave a lame excuse. They said we needed to purchase some felt pads. So my mil signed and let us know. When we came home we saw that they didn't put the couch together because they were missing parts.
We contacted Chayanne and let her staff know that we were missing brackets that hold together the couch. It took weeks before we received a call back. We called back and told them again, Chayanne was very rude. No call backs and she insisted that she'd get ahold of the company. Again no call back again. We contacted company again and finally we were told that she'd call back and give us a resolution. We received a call from another lady from there makers of the couch. She arranged for delivery of the brackets months out. Finally May came 2021. Finally the delivery came to put the couch together only it was the wrong parts. The delivery man took pictures and said he'd contact the company and send there correct ones. So now we are back playing phone tag and or simply us calling and they not calling us back.
Since then we've called each time they act confused, then say they are working on it, we'll call you back in a week but never call us back nor leave a message.
ITS A YEAR LATER. We still don't have a full function couch. They have not gotten back to us. This was the biggest mistake. Now we are considering a lawyer or court to get our money back but this is RIDICULOUS. and they...
