The guy with the very long hair is the reason I give this store only 1 star. I go to Starbucks on a daily basis whether it’s ordering from Uber Eats or going to the store in person. I used to go to this location all the time until the new one on Route 45 and Washington opened up, simply because I think they make their drinks a lot better than the one on Belvidere Rd in Grayslake. When I went through the drive thru last week at the Grayslake location, I placed a mobile order prior to arriving to the drive thru window. When I received my order, I was told I need to give them a few minutes for it to be ready after I place an order. I thought that was pretty rude considering I was the only car in the drive thru and the only customer at the entire store at the time, but I didn’t say anything. Today I went to the location on 45 and Washington and placed my usual order. Since I’ve been feeling under the weather and have a cold, I wanted a medicine ball tea, but they were sold out at that location. I decided to go to the location on Belvidere Rd in Grayslake since according to their app, they weren’t sold out of it. I placed my mobile order BEFORE I even got to the Grayslake location and when I pulled up to the drive thru window, I let them know I placed a mobile order under my name. I pulled up to the window and waited a couple of minutes. While I was waiting, ONE car pulled up behind me. The guy with the very long hair came to the window and handed me my drink and said “we need 3-5 minutes for your order to be ready when you place a mobile order”. He didn’t greet me, or say anything else to me besides this. So I said “Yeah you told me the same exact thing last week when I was here and I’m also not in any kind of rush”. He seemed surprised that I responded that way and didn’t say anything and I drove off. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional and I’m not sure why it matters if I place a mobile order and my drink isn’t ready by the time I get to the store. I have never had a Starbucks employee tell me this or make it out to be a problem until dealing with this individual employee. This is horrible customer service especially when they weren’t even busy and I will never be going to this location again. Even if they were busy, this employee should not be making comments like this. Do you know how many times I’ve gone to this location and have had to wait 15-20 minutes easily for my order? Whether they are busy or not, these comments aren’t okay. I’m a paying customer and I don’t go there to spend money to deserve rude comments like this to me. This location used to have great customer service, but by allowing employees like this individual to treat their customers like this isn’t acceptable. Do better Starbucks. Your drinks aren’t cheap. People come to Starbucks to enjoy a good cup of coffee, not to have comments mentioned to them like this. Also, my medicine ball tea spilled all over my car as I pulled away. I love coming to this location because the baristas are pawsome. Kenny’s service was amazing. I used my daughter’s app and apparently she already used it yesterday but Kenny honored it anyway. This made my other daughter happy that she got her Frappuccino. Plus, my Golden Retriever got his pup-cup when I forgot to ask for it.
1000% will come back here again. Great hire manager. Kenny definitely deserves a raise.
9/2023 10 STARS!! I love this location! I make a point to drop in whenever I need a pick me up. Friendly and down to earth baristas. Tonight Mike took my twin girls order (fall drink) and it was complicated. He did not disappoint..he knew his assignment…lol Both my girls are enjoying it.
Thank you Mike for a pawsome service. Great hire manager. Definitely need a raise.

She is an EXCELLENT barista. She was so polite and very helpful when it came to choosing the tumbler for one of my twin girl. Don’t worry, the other twin already got one. Julie went over and beyond and was very professional. She definitely knows her store.

Read moreGenuinely awful Starbucks experience. Waited in drive thru for 40 minutes bc they were busy and having trouble with their efficiency. I can overlook that. They made my drink wrong- they gave me the entirely wrong drink and I told them right away and they fixed it. I can overlook that too. But what I can’t overlook is being yelled at by the guy running the window. The parking lot is badly configured and I pulled past the pick up window to leave and the line to order was wrapped around so I couldn’t get get by a car in front of me and there was also a car on my side trying to leave after pulling out of their parking spot-I was literally boxed in. The man at the window leaned out and started yelling at me to move- which I literally could not do or I would T bone the car in front of me. He kept yelling for me to go like I wanted to be sitting there. The situation was chaos- I waited nicely and patiently to go through the line, to order, and when they made an accident with my drink.
