This store has the worst customer service. It is understaffed with untrained employees. Every time I walk in to pick up an order or buy something, there is some problem.
5/16/14 Today I went to the GB Staples to trade in two phones with their well publicized electronics trade in program. I went to the tech desk where I saw a flyer advertising this. The e-tech was busy with another customer. I waited there close to 20 minutes. Three sales associates walked by me without acknowledging me or asking if I needed help. I felt invisible. Another sales associate walked through the front door and got ready to do his shift. He stood at the register looking around for a few minutes and finally asked me who I was waiting for. I told him, "anyone who will help me". He went into the room with the security mirror in the front of the store and got a team supervisor. She knew nothing of the program and phoned another store for help. I waited. Then she phoned another store. Finally she got the right screen on the computer to answer questions about the phones. She called another team supervisor for help. He found the laminated sheet that was lying on the tech counter that listed the model of phone with the amount of credit. It took 10 more minutes to determine the type of phones (I had two identical phones). It was determined that the credit would be $40 per phone, and she told me that that amount would go to the purchase of another phone, but that was not the terms that were stated on the poster. Oh my, another dilemma. She had never issued an e-card credit, so another phone call was made to another Staples. Wait more. Again, the computer wouldn't function to process the credit. She moved to another computer and plugged in all of the information again, only to tell me that the phones were worthless and to recycle them. This whole process took over an hour of aggravation. Shouldn't the two supervisors of the store know the functions of each department within the store? I have been to several different Staples and this one takes the cake for horrible customer service with...
Read moreNot happy with the shipping man on the phone who was impatient, rude and uncooperative when I called to get the UPS tracking number that was not on the receipt that they gave me when I dropped off my package the day before. He insisted that the number was there. I was very patient and looked over the entire, typically very long, receipt. There was no tracking number, nor any descriptor that made any reference to the word tracking. Then he said that I must have the store copy, which I shouldn’t have had. I said it says customer copy here on my receipt. And there is no tracking number. I have the order number. Can you look it up for me please? Did you make a label for us? He asked, clearly not wanted to bother with me anymore, I assume he was busy in the store, but that shouldn’t have to be my problem, should it? I said, I brought it into the store. Well, that’s what I meant, he said brusquely, did we make a label for you? I replied, that isn’t what you asked me, you asked if I made the label up. And I described to you how I brought it in with a label I had written taped on it. And he said impatiently, all right well, I can look it up now that I’ve got the order number you gave me, now that I’ve got the right information. Which I felt as demeaning and insulted my intelligence. I was a magazine and book editor for 30 years. I know how to read a receipt. And I know when information that I’m supposed to have is not there. He finally looked up and gave me the tracking number. And as I was saying thank you, and just for your information, that number is nowhere on the receipt anywhere, he hung up. Just for the personal satisfaction of showing him that he was wrong, I’m going to take the receipt in to the store and tell him very politely that he should be more patient with people on the telephone. Because otherwise they won’t want to come back to the store that...
Read moreAvoid this Staples. The staff has no idea what they are talking about, sell the wrong products, don't seem to give a crap. My husband bought me a computer for my birthday when they first opened. He told them that and asked them not to call when it was ready. They called, and ruined my surprise. I came into buy an other computer. I needed a few extra things added to it. They said they'd call in a week. Two weeks go by, I call, and oops, it was ready, was sitting on the floor in the back room ($1000 by the way). Most recently, I send my husband in with a note to buy an IPAD AIR 2 case. He shows the note to the employee who picks out an IPAD Air case. Wrong. When I called to find out if they had an IPAD AIR 2 otterbox in stock, I was placed on hold for five minutes before I could speak to someone. This place is the worst. Staples should either invest heavily in their staff or just close the store if they are not going to stock it well or...
