Western MA Graphic Novels — Local services in Great Barrington

I stopped in to Western MA for the first time on a day off during the summer when I was just exploring the Berkshires. I ended up talking to the owner Andrew for over an hour about not just graphic novels but what his vision for the store is in Great Barrington and the importance of locally owned shops for small town quality of life in the era of Amazon. That perspective was very endearing and speaks to how friendly and knowledgeable he is. He also put three hardcover volumes of Tintin on hold for me!

At the moment, the store is in a bit of a transitional period, so there is not a tremendous amount of stock. However, Andrew is more than willing to do price matching or recommend you something else that suits your tastes. He has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of everything in the store that left me flabbergasted.

Two day in a row showed up during business hours and the store was closed. Yesterday the blinds were opened as if the store was open as well. This was part of a vacation stop and very disappointed to have the hrs say they are open when in fact they are not open at all. No sign saying closed or saying change of business hours... Disappointed to say the least. Thank you for replying I was on vacation from Michigan and left yesterday morning to go back home. Your shop was on my list of must stop at shops the week I was in the Berkshires for vacation. I even extended my trip a day to shop at your store since the first day didn't work. What a gem of a bookstore. I love graphic novels and have been searching for a place like this since I picked up my first book. Andrew is amazing, knowledgeable and really wants to meet your interests. He was able to help me expand my graphic novel horizons. I left excitably with a stack.
