L.A. Frame Co. — Local services in Green Brook Township

My sister and I have portraits of ourselves made of felt material on ceramic plates edged with paint. The plates are over 55 years old and show every bit of their age. I brought the plates to LA Frame to be refurbished and shadow-box framed. Upon entering the store, George, the owner, greeted me, and the wonderful experience began. It was obvious that he was proficient, patient, and had a welcoming and pleasant demeanor. His guidance in helping me select the frame, matting, and glass made the process easy.

The exposed portions of the plates were expertly cleaned. The felt portions were cleaned but still maintained an appreciated aged appearance. The weathered painted plate edges held their character.

My sister's shadow-boxed plate was a birthday gift for her. The happiness this brought to her lifted my heart with joy. My shadow-boxed plate is hung on my bedroom wall. The boxes are so beautifully done. You know, when you look at something and it conjures up wonderful memories from your youth, and you experience happiness from the beauty of looking at it, that's what I have from my work of art.

My husband and I went to L.A. Frame sometime back to get outer wood frames with inner decorative metal frame accents done for our two family photo collages. We spent more than an hour there selecting them.The Owner was very polite and helped us select the inner and outer frames.The cost came to around $884. We were told to come and get them in 3 weeks. When I called up the day before to check if they were ready,the lady assistant who spoke to me said it was not ready and they needed more time. I was disappointed and when I told her that the owner said that it would be ready,she was very rude to me.A week later,I went to pick up the collages and I was shocked to find that they did not use the frames I selected.I was quite upset and the rude assistant first said that I might be mistaken.But when I showed her the order form,she agreed to redo the whole thing which took another two weeks. After my experience,I will not recommend this store to anyone.Also,I found that I could have got this done way cheaper and without all the headache in another...

I was delighted to find and use L.A. Frame Co. this past summer for a custom framing project. Although I have had relatively good luck with custom products from larger big box stores, I wanted to support a local business person this time. From the experience, to the product, to the price, I was constantly satisfied by L.A. Frame. and G.J. couldn't have been better to work with. It was so relaxing to be in his shop and look at designs and options with him. Inspiration abounded. His ideas and recommendations were spot on. He helped me figure out what I really wanted the final product to look like (in terms of the look and feel) almost like a geologist might discern and classify the fine grains and underlying components of specimen to figure out what exact kind of larger rock specimen they had in their hands.
