My shopping experience at Value City Furniture was a two day process and in this time, my sales agent Shaqura was sweet, patient, empathetic to our needs and took the time to answer every question. The store manager was equally pleasant and accommodating. They both went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and myself and family most definitely are!! Thank you gals.
Update 7/16/19: I’ve finally received all of my furniture 1 month later...I feel it’s my duty to update the public on my experience following my initial purchase. I’ve lowered my 5-Star rating to a 1-Star rating due to consistent errors being made on my order before and during delivery. Two deliveries to my home were attempted and both times, I was given the wrong table, chairs and damaged mirror and bed rails. It took way too many phone calls to Value City management to get everything corrected. Eddie, one of the Store Managers made a promise to sort and correct my order personally; it was a promise he never fulfilled. I simply was not a priority which is an outrage considering the obscene amount of money I’ve spent patronizing this establishment. Of course, this only added to my frustration with Value City Furniture. On the third delivery, I received the right table but the necessary screws were not provided for the bed rail installation. I praise the delivery man (Spanish guy) for having the sense to check his truck for spare screws, otherwise it would have resulted in a FOURTH delivery!!! Warehouse personnel are careless and lazy and never bothered to check the merchandise for damage and/or accuracy before sending it out for delivery every single time!! Needless to say, I am beyond done with Value City Furniture. Though Ms. Crystal, Store Manager was consistent in maintaining contact with me throughout this nightmare and ultimately was able to remedy the problem, I will never patronize Value City Furniture again. From orders being generated incorrectly to warehouse errors and indifference from some of the store staff and personally experiencing a level of disappointment, frustration and anxiety that no customer should have to endure, I am so done!! Value City has lost me as a...
Read moreWe were at the Greenbrook store for about 2 hours today, met a nice salesperson named Latha. We told her we were going home to measure and would be back after dinner. As promised, we went back to buy not one but TWO living room SETS. We asked if they were both in stock, and were reassured that they were. After processing mine first, we find out that after 3.5 hours, the set we were assured was in for my mom was back ordered until February. Without going into detail, our time as a family is very precious. We asked to speak with a manager as we were beyond disheartened. Juan Gonzalez, the manager, informed us that there was nothing he could do, nor help with any part of my purchase or give us any support. While discussing, another associate came by. Since she inserted herself in our conversation, I decided to ask for her business card, for which she replied she didn’t have to give me one and she was “off the clock anyway.” Strange that she would be just hanging out where all the customers were confirming their purchases, but to each his own. Fair enough. So I said “ I need to at least write a description of you- in which I proceeded to write 5’7”-5’8”, pony tail, and before I could even finish, she states “so what- did you write AFRICAN AMERICAN?” Are you kidding me? What does RACE have to do with my purchase or lack there of? Absolutely uncalled for. I was FLOORED, and even Juan and Latha apologized. I asked the employee to please step away if she was “not working” and to stay out of my business. She refused to walk away, continuing to circle the area. Due to the clear racism which is apparently acceptable at this location, I cancelled my order and left before further remarks could be made. I outright asked Juan if he required his staff to indicate their race in their business cards, as I was still in shock. Juan indicated that that was certainly not their policy. My family is biracial, and I was insulted. This, my friends, is where racism stems from. I asked for a follow up call from Juan on Wednesday, December 28th to be informed of the follow up to this incident. Incredibly disappointed and...
Read moreWe had been in the store shopping for a sofa with Letha. We were told that the sofa we had liked would be shipped in approximately 4 days. Later on we had called her to place the order and asked if it would be delivered prior to Christmas (date of call was 12/19) and my question went unanswered. I went on to ask three more times while trying to place the order over the phone and again my question was ignored until the fourth. The answer given to me by Letha implied that she can't give me an exact date until the order is processed and paid for. I confirmed that I wanted to place the order and paid online as instructed. I sent over the transaction ID and was acknowledged that it was received by Letha. I called back after a couple hours to confirm the delivery date and was then told that I won't receive delivery until February. I was then lied to as she exclaimed that she told me this while placing the order which absolutely was not the case or else I never would have placed the order. I told her to cancel it and refund me but she persisted on having me come back to the store to reselect something that's coming in sooner and despite me being firm that I wanted my money back she kept at it. Eventually she stated I can have my refund but I had to drive back to the store to receive it despite the fact that I was able to pay remotely. I mentioned that I am nearly an hour away but she made it clear that the only way to process the refund is by coming into the store to retrieve it. I called the store again this morning to try to get my refund and was helped by someone else (who's name I didn't get) and they politely helped me and were able to process the refund efficiently and respectfully for me. The fact that someone else was able to assist me with processing a refund remotely further highlighted Letha's willingness to speak untruthfully to the customer.
Edit: Angela was the person who had helped me with the refund and was exceptional kind...
