In my 26 years of life, I have only left one bad review because I never go out of my way to make others feel the way they made feel, but after last night something needs to be said.
I got my nails done this past Sunday and asked for French tips. I had nothing on my nails at the time, I wanted tips and didn't want the length long due to work. That conversation with Kim were the only words said the entire time I sat in her window until it was time for her to ask if I liked them. During the process I decided to TRUST the process because I have gotten my nails done so often that sometimes even when I don’t like them during, I like the result. I paid $75 for the worst set of French tips I have ever had and still tipped her $15. It was close to closing time and I feel for people in the customer service industry after a long week, so I tried to get used to them through the next day but still did not appreciate how they looked. Called the nail salon, spoke with Aaron himself, he said many kind things including he would take care of them by redoing the nails, just give him a time when I can come in. I ended up coming in at 6:30pm the following Tuesday and when I arrived, I was immediately given the cold shoulder. Aaron sat me down with Henry who tried to essentially tell me it was because of how long my nails were that is why they looked that way and said he could file them down to make them look better. I did not want to keep these nails because I didn't like them and since they weren't being redone, I politely asked for them to be taken off. Henry no longer spoke to me, shook his head during the entire appointment, told me to go wash my hands after I sat in the chair and cried of embarrassment because of how they made me feel in person when Aaron was completely different over the phone, but also who wants to go back into the nail salon after not liking their nails in the first place? I felt terrible for just having to go in there because I didn't want Kim, the woman who did my nails, to feel bad. After I washed my hands and walked back to the station I was sitting at, Henry was gone, and the station was shut off appearing that I was done. Kim had been there to simply see that I came back in and didn't like my nails because she too was gone, the only person left aware of the situation was Aaron who still had said nothing more to me. No apology or any indication of kindness and or professionalism. I stood at the counter because I intended on tipping Henry for his efforts as well and Aaron paid no attention to my existence, so I just left. I have been getting my nails done on the Westside for years and years, I have always been a good tipper, I have always been kind to anyone who works in the customer service industry because so do I. I knew someone who used to work at that nail salon for a long time, and the expectation Aaron set for his business and himself over the phone went above and beyond anything I expected, just to be treated so poorly when going back in. After waiting about 30 minutes in the parking lot, I decided to go back in and let Aaron know I didn't understand why he acted one way over the phone but completely different when coming back in. When I entered back into the salon, crying and apologetic for the fact that I even had to come here today in the first place, he immediately became defensive and argumentative telling me there was nothing wrong with my nails to begin with and essentially shooed me out the door with his words telling me goodbye without listening to a word I said. My mom also later called that night, he did not answer, but called back before close, and did not allow her to speak about the situation either. Told her to shut up and again acted completely unprofessional. I would not ever recommend going to this salon. When they do a good job, they are quick to own it as they should, but when someone does not like the service they provide, all character and professionalism goes out the window like it never mattered you were a customer there...
Read moreI had shellac gel polish done on both my toes and fingernails on Wednesday at about 7 pm. By Saturday morning, both had chipped. I go in to get the polish on my fingernails removed ( no plans of getting anything else done on my fingernails) and possibly to get the one toe nail repaired. As I talked with the person attending to me about how quickly the nail polish chipped, he explained that they recommend SNS because with gel the nail polish chips whenever your nail chips, he kept going on and on about how they can't control people's nails chipping and that they rarely do gel polish for that reason. I explained to him that the nail polish chip was not due to my nail breaking/chipping the nail chips he is referring to occurred after I tried to remove the nail polish myself after the nail polish chipped spontaneously on one of my finger nails. He then suggests that if I don't like their service, I should go somewhere else. I don't have to come back to them. I am not sure where that was coming from, as I thought we were just having a conversation. I then asked if he could do the toe nail repair, and he rudely replied that he won't, I had to go to whoever did the toe nails to take it off and repair it. I said , " I don't recall the tech who did my nails," and he walks away asking the techs that whoever did my toe nails should get it repaired . Needless to say, I won't be going back there. I have been a customer for over 3 years now, and though the service has not been perfect, this is the worst I have seen. Someone had told me they dilute and water down their gel polish, and that is why it chips easily. Whatever the reason is, I won't be going back there. I did not go in to complain, ask for a refund, or ask for free service. I paid for the nail polish removal and nail repair and tipped the girl who finished off attending to me because she was okay but the owner, I believe who attended to me 1st was outright rude, arrogant, dismissive and...
Read moreThis location is the only one that acts like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to pay to get your nails done. It's not a favor, i pay good money for the service you provide.
I've been thinking I needed to find a new place the last couple of visits, but my most recent solidified it for me. I actually waited a day to write this, because I hate flaming anyone honestly. There seems to be an issue with not having an appointment, yet they advertise walk ins welcome? I don't get it. They act like they are doing you a favor by taking you when they advertise it? So, after attitude over not having an appointment I waited 30 mins to be seated for my pedicure. Another 15 mins for someone to start. I'm not posting a picture of my feet, but let's just say I'm going to another location to get my feet redone tonight. She wrapped my nails to remove the sns at the beginning of the pedicure and then after the pedicure says "whoever can get to your nails will come and get you, my appointment is here" nails have been wrapped 40 mins at that point.. I've already waited the initial 40 mins. I asked to just have the sns removed, I don't have time to wait again. She then proceeded to tell me I should have made an appointment BUT, and this is the kicker... "my appointment is actually 30 minutes early so ill go ahead and do it for you this time " No- you took my walk in business... you aren't doing me a favor by allowing me to get my nails done. Its over 100.00 after tip. Its not cheap....Don't advertise for walk ins or take walk ins if you don't have time. My daughter was with me, and I had to go and put her shoes on her as she was just left sitting in the pedicure chair lol. So, I paid 65.00 and have to go get everything redone.....
