Perfect park to play some Pokémon Go (4 Gyms and 7 Stops as of 11/23/2020) and to do some walking/running exercise, has slight elevation changes on the paved path. Biking is permitted but the track is a very short lap for a bike, about half mile in distance, two lanes. Great way to possibly meet people who take similar interests.
Great place to pay respects and memories of our bravest of soldiers who fought for the United States of America. Also a great spot to check out an actual decommissioned Patton M60A3 main battle tank which was recently repainted and repaired for upkeep.
At the west end of the park there are short and long nature trails leading into the woods, paths are well made dirt nature paths but small in width. Benches line the trail for rest stops.
Has 2 large grass fields for sports, playing surface is bumpy with patches of rough grass, could use a resodding but otherwise great for soccer/football and children's sports.
Large baseball/softball dirt infield diamond with an outfield fence, great field to witness your child's possible first career fence clearing home run. Ahhh I still remember mine back in 2002, fond memories. Great dugouts for teams that provide shelter from the blistering summer suns.
The only outdoor handball courts that I know of in the west side, total of 4. Great hard surface with clean 3 sided walls. Outdoor Basketball courts, playing surface isn't perfectly flat and rims are a little suspect but not the worst i've seen.
Cute fenced in small playground for the little ones (aged 1-5) with a soft almost bouncy surface. Also has a sheltered picnic area for rent with plenty of tables for get togethers with a small swing set nearby.
Clean bathrooms for a public park, men's and women's sides. Several water fountains for hydration that are sometimes turned off so bring your own water just in case.
Loads of parking spots down low on the north side in front of the Green township Harrison ave Fire and Police department building with a long wheelchair ramp up to the top. They also have senior citizen and disabled parking up top off harrison ave on the east side by the M60A3 tank and newly claimed parking spots off the south east corner also off of Harrison Ave.
Rumors are Green Township is connecting the recently created Green Township Bike and Walk trail (that runs from Oakdale school at Virginia Court off Bridgetown Rd and ends currently as of November 2020 at a parking spot at Hutchinson rd and Filview Circle) to this park which would be amazing feat if done for bike riders and long distance walkers and runners. The west side of Cincinnati badly needs a long maintained road...
Read moreVeterans Park (the tank park) is the great park with an awesome tank parked out front. Traffic light access makes entering the lot shared by the Green Township Municipal Building where there is plenty of parking complete with van access handicapped parking and a railed cement ramp for wheelchair access. The park offers many features beginning with a wide two lane track encircling the park that's great for both walking and jogging. Moreover, a sign point out the entrance to an adjacent wilderness path if that's your thing. There are also outdoor basketball courts for pickup games and a handball court. Additionally there is a well kept baseball field and two soccer fields which are available for league play. In addition, the park offers two clubhouses complete with grills and seating for family cookouts and small events. Moreover, the restrooms are kept clean and well maintained. Last but not least, no park would be complete without the foot operated outdoor water fountains and the big wooden jungle gym for the kids. The one knock is the lacking frisbee golf course. All in all, whether you're looking for casual family fun, solo cardio, pickup BB or full on league play, Veterans Park is a great place for...
