Warning: BE AWARE OF USED VEHCILES WITH DAMAGE AND ACCIDENT HISTORY AT THIS DEALERSHIP. I purchased a 2018 GMC Canyon on 9-9-23. On the day of the purchase, I was there with my co-signer, so there were two people present at the time of the contract. The salesman and finance manager were very nice. The salesman and I did a walk around the truck. I asked about a dent in the tailgate. He told me used cars have minor dents. There is nothing to worry about. That was all he said, and then he brought my attention to the inside of the truck. Myself and my cosigner signed everything, and I felt very comfortable and happy. I drove the truck for the first month, and everything was fine. On November 11, my insurance company (Progressive) cancelled my insurance while I was in the hospital. Apparently, while I was sick, they sent me a correspondence in regards to a policy update. I didn't reply, and they cancelled. I called progressive back to reinstate my policy, but had to start a new one. While starting the new policy, the agent informed me that progressive pulled a vehicle history report and the truck was previously damaged in two accidents or collisions. Progressive then determined that the vehicle was high-risk to insure and that my policy would increase by $72. I decided to pull a Carfax history on the truck. I wouldnāt have known about the accidents had it not been for Progressive telling me. The salesman at the dealership did not tell me or my cosigner about the truck being involved in accidents. I didnāt want to spend $32, 000 on a truck that was involved in accidents. Minor or not. We at least should have been told to be able to make an informed decision. Especially if they were only minor. I mean by the end of the contract and fees. Iām in this truck for $40,000. Should a consumer be able to afford and accident free car for that? I called the dealership to ask why they did not inform me about the accidents during the sale and contract. The finance manager first told me that he reviewed the car fax with me. I told him he did not. Then he changed it and said that the salesman reviewed the auto check and told us about the accidents. He reassured me that they go over this with every customer. I called my co-signer and asked if he was told about the accidents, and he confirmed that no one said anything about damage or previous accidents. Telling me about the accidents would have influenced my decision to buy it, so they never said anything. Iāve been up to the dealership, and they have not been able to give me a copy of this signed auto check. In addition to this. My check engine light came on several times since I've owned the truck. Barely three months now. I took it up to have it looked at. The check engine light pulled these codes. P0014, P0019, P0024. All very serious codes. Camshaft and Crankshaft issues. The mechanic first replaced several sensors and told me to change the oil which could cause the check engine. I did that. The check engine light came back on that same night. Same codes. The engine fan also starting turning on after I turned off the truck and when I started it. This didn't happen before. By the end of that weekend I couldn't drive my truck, and that Monday I could not start it. I had to jump the truck to get to the dealership even though it just started with the remote starter. The dealership tried to normalize the fact the the truck was having problems. Tried telling me that trucks are machines and this is normal. They reassured me that there was nothing wrong with the truck despite the check engine light codes. Basically because the truck was not having problems at the shop, nothing was wrong. A warning: PULL A CARFAX yourself. Compare it to the dealerships auto history check before you sign. Ask questions about any damage you see. They listed my truck for $34,000 with accidents and damage. The truck was drivable after the accidents so they figured it didn't matter to tell a consumer. I should have been able to buy an accident free truck for $40,000....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience. I called and spoke with Wes about my Kia Sedona and my credit score. He said they could help because of the preapproval letter I received in the mail. I live 50 minutes away and when I got there I was met with salesman Heath. This was the worst car experience ever. I was upside down in my trade and new it from the beginning. He tried to put me in a 2018 Grand caravan with all the bells and whistles. I told him from the beginning what I needed my car payment to be. He starts paper work and then tells me that my payment would be 752.00 a month. I was shocked that he even came to me with that number. Then he told me that "I needed to help him out". Excuse me....I then told him no that I couldn't afford that payment. He kept trying to get me to sign a paper with that payment and I told him I wanted my keys to the Kia so I could leave. He then shows me a Journey and I said no. I have a toddler in a car seat and two other children. I needed a vehicle that would hold all of us and have trunk space. That payment would have been 600.00 a month. There were several words between he and I then he shows me another 2018 Grand caravan. At this point, 2.5 hours have went by. I have a cranky 3 year old and a 10 yr old with me. Finally, Wes comes in. I tell him my situation then demand my keys back...the third time. Then they magically get my payment where I need it to be. Being fed up, I signed the papers. Then I get home and get a call on Monday from ECU that I did not have a completed loan and more paperwork had to be signed. My interest rate and payment increased. I have paperwork from both and plan on looking into it with a lawyer. And then I get a letter from GM Financial letting me know my Kia was paid off and there was a credit that was sent to Chrysler Greeneville and they should be sending it to me. Well I've never seen it and that payoff is part of my car loan so I'll be dealing with that as well. Since it's part of my car loan that I am paying, I should be getting it back. This was the absolute worst car buying experience. I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToo bad can't give a negative zero. Stopped in on March 13, 2020, only to have wasted 4 hours of my time. Inquired about a vehicle, test drove the vehicle, and thought that I might would like to trade on it. That's when everything went south. After about an hour and a half, trying to talk about the pricing and trade value of the deal, the so called general manager approached and started trying to pressure the sell. Spoke with him just a second and he apparently thought he could take and start talking down to me. He actually thought he could pressure me into a bad money deal. I took and scanned the vehicle vin number through my carfax app, and saw that they were asking $3500 more than the vehicle was worth. I tried to haggle down the price while also trying to figure out why they wouldn't allow any off for my trade. This so called general manager, said his name was Mike, he told me that I didn't understand how to buy a car. He said that they allowed a high allowance on the trade for the said vehicle and he could never sell less than that, no matter how many other vehicles of same would be found at a lesser price than at their lot. He then went as far as to assume that I couldn't afford anything anyhow. In just a few minutes after dealing with the younger salesman, this person came and made the situation extremely unbearable. Apparently, approaching a potential customer, you must talk nasty and beneath them. If not, maybe the owners of this dealership should consider a new management staff at their Greenville Dodge dealership lot. If anyone is to ask for future inquiries about my experience here, I will definitely tell them to seek a new vehicle elsewhere. I myself will not ever return to the Chantz Scott Dodge dealership of Greenville, Tennessee. NOTE TO ALL:...
