Monterrey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Greeneville

I have avoided this Monterrey's for a while do to service and quality for 3 years. Well, I learned I will have to continue that...

Service was slow. 15 minutes waiting on the check. 20 minutes waiting on the food and the refill on chips/salsa arrived after our entre even though the bowls were empty for 10 minutes. Being seated was quick though, as was ordering our drinks, but that was because we started with a different server. The refill on the drinks were near-impossible to get.

My food was mediocre. I ordered chicken nachos. The queso was the consistency of water and luke warm. The salsas they have are also not great. The salsas aren't necessarily bad, though, either. My GF ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla and enjoyed it. The queso on hers was much better and warmer though.

Very shady place. Got an order of cheese dip (3.50) and a chicken dish (10.99), and my FIL got Sr. meal #1 (4.99), and a diet coke. I had water to drink. I wanted flan but they were out. They don't give a proper bill print out showing your charges, and at the front I was told $39.99 was my total. Unless you are charging $20 for a diet coke, which would be its own issue in and of itself, there's no way! And of course, they don't give you an itemized receipt, so what can you do? I will never EVER go to this place again, that's for sure. Nor will I recommend it to anyone. They are thieves. There are too many good restaurants around to visit who WON'T just blatantly steal from you. Ones who will, like this place, does not deserve to stay in business. Terrible! And they should be ashamed, doing...

GREAT FOOD / PLACE .... LOVE COMING HERE. Prices are VERY reasonable.

Staff are the BEST !! We've had ANYWHERE .

Love that they don't go SALANTRO * crazy .... Understand , some like it * but I can't stand the Taste - myself Js.

Don't forget to add a Tamale 🫔 * we have them put Cheese Sauce , over ours instead of the normal Tamale Sauce.

06/10/24 ** Back here , almost Weekly ♥️ that's how good it is. I've just changed the Beef ..... to Chicken ( Shredded White Meat w/ Onions & Green Peppers ( just a few ) in it. Like it waaay better this...
