I just moved here from Kingsport. This gym is much more complicated. Trying to sign up is beyond frustrating. I have walked into this facility 4 times trying to get a membership, but each time I am informed of another requirement that involves me leaving the facility and coming back. They will not inform you of the income limit (I even asked but they couldnt tell me) for financial assistance. Most YMCAs have the info available right at the front desk. So they will waste your time just to find out days later that you do not qualify. They do not accept debit card like most facilities do. You have to have your banking information. So if you are a stay at home mom like me and most things are in your husband's name, dont forget to drag your hubby along (mines work nights so he wasnt happy about that.). The staff isnt lax and friendly like Kingsports :/

He was climbing in and out of the pool and walking in the overflow and no one was watching him. I was scared to step away. They came over to him once and kicked his feet the entire lesson. This was one week after I read a 4 year old died during swim lessons at a different facility. It was very dangerous so I got my child and left. Several parents followed my lead. I was so upset I cancelled our memberships we had only had a few weeks. I've visited several YMCAS and this was by...

People who are not swimming laps take up the lap lanes (walking, aqua jogging and swim classes for children). Therefore, all lanes should be open at a designated time set only for lap swimming. The half of the pool is taken up as well as the lap lanes for people who are not swimming laps. Having a designated time for lap swimming will be greatly beneficial instead of having to wait for a lane that people are not even swimming laps in. This needs to be managed better and used more...
