We were on vacation a week ago in Milwaukee and weather was not cooperating with outdoor activities. A quick Google search helped us find Big Putts, and we were absolutely astounded! The fact that it is indoors means this place can be open year-round unlike most mini golf courses which have to close seasonally. However, the other amazing features are the holes themselves. Repurposed skateboards not only decorate the walls, but are used as obstacles on a couple of holes. Cinder blocks build up inclined planes for the more challenging holes. Traffic cones lit from below create a Plinko contraption after you send your golf ball up a launch ramp. There is even an elevated hole that utilizes a huge plastic culvert tube for both golf balls and people to travel to the end of the hole. I won't give away the unique experience of the last hole, but will let you know for the 18th it is "over the top" of any mini golf experience! The staff was extremely welcoming, and explained a couple of holes to us, but I overheard them also going over basic rules with customers who had never played mini golf before. They took time to fit each of us with the correct length putter, something I have never had happen at any other mini golf place. Usually, it's a choice between short putter for kids and taller putter for adults. At least four sizes, including three for adults of various heights. My hubby keeps dreaming about converting an old Family Video building into an indoor mini golf place, and I was definitely taking mental notes about how it could be done on a bare bones budget. I can see a need for a place to hang coats in colder temperatures, but that could be a hand-made coat rack using black plumbers pipe and threaded elbows with a pack or two of plastic hangers to have a space for one more amenity for guests. There is also a small arcade section in the back corner. If you live in the Milwaukee area, or will be visiting soon, this has to go on...
Read moreThis mini-golf course is a true gem and an absolute must-visit for anyone in the Milwaukee area! Big Putts in Greenfield deserves every one of its five stars. From the moment you walk in, you know this isn't your average, run-of-the-mill course. The "things in motion" theme is so creative, with dynamic and interactive holes that are a blast to play. We loved the dinosaur-themed hole and the epic, plinko-style final putt on the 18th hole.
The course is impeccably maintained, with each of the 18 holes offering a unique and fun challenge. It's clear that a lot of thought and craftsmanship went into the design. It's a great spot for all skill levels, whether you're a seasoned pro or just looking for a good time with friends or family. Plus, being indoors means you can enjoy a round of mini-golf any time, rain or shine!
Beyond the fantastic course, the atmosphere is top-notch. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the attached arcade is a perfect way to keep the fun going. Big Putts is the kind of place that creates lasting memories and is perfect for a date, a family outing, or a party. We can't wait to go back and try to master some of the trickier holes. A flawless experience from...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to check this place out after dinner on a Saturday. It's a great concept and there are some really creative obstacle designs.
A word about the condition though... it's understandable that this place gets a lot of traffic, but it would be nice if some simple attention were paid to floors. I mean, it's a mini golf course and it's not unreasonable for someone to run a popcorn sweeper over the floor or someone with a backpack vacuum keep the greens tidy. There was so much debris it actually factored into the game play at some really disappointing times. There was also presumably a roof leak (saw a plastic container full of water.... very near exposed electrical outlets. I'm sure they're safe, probably broken plate covers from golfers.)
The game room was fun. A few inoperable machines and we did have to ask for a refund on a machine that ate our money. Altogether it was more chill and fun than Dave and Buster, and we DID ultimately have fun. That's really...
